What customers say
This is a friendly, reasonably priced campsite with helpful staff and a traditional feel. Facilities are generally clean, though some are dated. The on-site pub is a highlight with good food. Proximity to the A1 is convenient for stopovers. Some guests experienced noise from nearby trains and the motorway, and a few noted issues with uneven pitches and occasional cleanliness concerns in facilities.

Shower red hot. Toilets clean and tidy
 Non-electric grass pitch
Liked First time on this site. We loved it. Me and my friend came in our berlingos. Was really windy and cold but we survived. Toilets were clean and the site manager was really friendly and helpful. The food in the pub was delicious, tip if you wanna eat, make sure you book. We will definetly be back. The shower was red hot. Be back soon. If you are prone to noise make sure you bring ear plugs, there is a main train line, never bothered me as i had ear plugs in. Would definetly recommend this site
Disliked Was cold, but that is mother nature for you

Very disappointing 😞
 Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Lovely friendly staff in the restaurant.
We didn't eat at the restaurant this time but the food looked lovely. We did have a drink but had to sit in the restaurant as there isn't a separate bar area unless you sit outside.
Disliked Stayed on the campsite a couple of years ago, totally different experience this time. Facilities are still basic but not very clean.
Camping field is mainly long term residents on the edge of the field (mostly travellers) so tourers have to park in the middle, which made you feel you were intruding!
There was another field next to the camping field which also had long term residents on but was blocked off.....maybe all long term could be on that field and leave the little field for tourers??
The horse and trap going through the camping field!!
Lots of 'yappy' dogs
The first few photos were obviously taken before long term residents as the field isn't that empty now!!

 Electric optional hardstanding pitch
 Liked Nice staff
Traditional feel with ducks and owners ponies on site.
All the facilities you need.
Keep in mind that the Hammer&Pincers pub is not open Monday & Tuesday
Disliked Unsafe road to walk to the next nearest food/pub, about 1 mile to the Premier Inn’s Gretna Green (not dog friendly) if arriving on a Monday or Tuesday.
Shower/Toilet facilities are farmy feeling.
Train line is close by and has regular services from early in the morning.

 Non-electric grass pitch
 Liked Lovely staff.
We were there with a large group for our daughters 40th birthday party in the marquee. Beautiful place.
Disliked The field is a bit rough looking though served it's purpose. There are a few toilets and showers, though we used our own facilities so can't comment.
There are quite a few long-term caravans on the site.
Next to main railway line( noisy at times) and close to the motorway ( didn'thearany road noise)
We would use again if in the area.
