    Location

    Disliked:

The site was noisy from a busy road at the side and loud traffic using it, not at all quiet as suggested by previous reviewers. We live rurally and expected the site to be dark which we are used to. This was not the case and it was bright at night from street lamps. The facilities were very basic the toilet chemical waste wasn’t great and could do with some more thought. I was checked in by a family relative who waved her hand to the area where the drinking water could be found and I never saw the owner at all. The site is also on a slope so take chocks unless you want to be wonky all night long. The price is extortionate for what you get.

    Small quiet site

    Disliked:

Supposed to have spacious pitch which we did have till Friday night then a 7.5 tonne lorry conversion and separate trailer pitched up at 10pm caused quite abit noise and pitched 2 foot of our motorhome and the same for motorhome on the next pitch down so it squashed between the 2 pitches and wasn't told to move so unfortunately as we like our space which is why we booked it we left Saturday morning

Well kept site. Spacious pitches, plenty of room to park. Excellent location for canoeing and paddle boarding as we were only 3 miles from Grassholme reservoir. Recieved a friendly welcome by the owner. Site only a few minutes walk to the local pub. Would definitely go back again.

Beautiful/peaceful location with a very friendly/accommadating host, Jacqui. Safe walks along the old railway line, with 2 pubs at the end. Bus stop on the doorstep if you fancy a trip to Middleton.
Once the shower, toilets and washing area is completed this will be an excellent site. Highly recommended. Thank you x

A quiet site in a beautiful village13/06/2022

We stayed for 5 nights on this pretty site, situated on the edge of the village of Mickleton, there are 5 spacious grass pitches, very quiet. Walk through the village and you will come to a nice pub 300m away serving good pizza, with a beer garden and very dog friendly. Lots of shorter local walks or if you are looking to stretch your legs, there is a great disused railway line, 200m away that takes you to other villages for longer walks. Plenty to see from water falls to castles all within a short drive. You can visit the nearby town of Barnard Castle for shopping, but a nicer relaxing experience is walking around Middleton where there is a selection of good local shops just a 5 minute drive away. For people wanting to ditch the car / motorhome, there is a bus stop right out side the site but we didn't try the service. We will return to this site

Location, more private than most i.e. 5 pitches only.
Lovely host, even lent us her ordnance survey map in a weatherproof case for our stay. Most facilities there. Pub 5 minutes walk and great walks available on the doorstep with bus stop outside the gate.

    Disliked:

Would definitely benefit from having a small toilet/shower block.
The CD facility needs a wider mesh grid and more powerful flush, it took ages to flush everything through. Comparing other sites, the charges are more than we would expect for the facilities available.
These are just feedback thoughts and not criticisms. We would return, no problem.
