  • Avon riverside camping in peaceful meadows in Evesham
  • A 10-minute walk to the Hampton ferry; a 15-minute drive to Broadway
  • Dog-friendly site; play area, pubs, pool and fishing nearby
Vicarage Meadows Camping is a quiet and rural Worcestershire camping spot with views over the Avon river into the centre of Evesham. A family mini break (the dogs come too) here gives you the chance to get out easily onto countryside footpaths and also explore historic Cotswolds towns and villages. The gate at the bottom of the site links directly onto a public footpath leading to the Hampton ferry (10 minutes’ walk). From here, you can be boated across the Avon and hey presto – you’re in the centre of town, convenient for picking up essential supermarket supplies, lunching in the pubs or pottering around the museums. Families might also like to picnic along the riverbank, try their luck at casting for brown trout, or take a dip at Evesham Leisure Centre (five minutes’ drive). If you’d prefer to explore by car, the typically Cotswold village of Broadway (15 minutes) is a good place to start, with a slew of art galleries and foodie options, including the well-known Lygon Arms, serving gourmet food in a historic building dating back to the 13th century. Back at base camp, basic facilities include spacious plots to prevent overcrowding, portable toilets, and two inside toilets with hand basins and plentiful hot water. There’s also an outside tap for washing dishes.
