General
- Well-maintained riverside site in Evesham town centre
- A 20-minute drive from Chipping Campden; half an hour from Worcester
- Set on an old boatyard with views of the river Avon and Evesham weir
River Avon views and the sight of water flowing through Evesham weir – how relaxing is that? Set slap bang in the middle of Evesham, this old boatyard has been repurposed to cater to those seeking thoroughly laidback hols. Direct riverfront access means plenty of opportunities to idly watch boats chugging by (and, potentially, to get up to a bit of fishing while you're at it).
All that time spent admiring captains steering their craft through the lock may put you in the mood for some aquatic adventure of your own. If you've brought a launch along, let the site staff know 48 hours in advance and they'll arrange access to their slipway; boats can also be hired and river cruises sorted a few minutes' walk away in Evesham's Abbey Park.
After all sorts of watery adventures in the local area, on your return to base you can set up a barbecue or stroll down into town instead, where a range of cuisines are on offer for both takeaway and sit-down meals. You can bring your dog along to Evesham Caravan Site too (waterside walkies pre- and/or post-dinner are pretty sure to go down a treat).
Other amenities like a supermarket and public toilets are a five-minute walk from site. Fancy a car-free jaunt? Evesham railway station, a well-served stop on the Cotswold Line, is about a 10-minute walk away.

Local attractions
If you find yourself knocking about Evesham for a few days, a quick recce at the Almonry Museum and Tourist Information Centre (10 minutes' walk) should give you plenty of info about the town and its past. Here in the spring? The Blossom Trail (so-named for the sweet-smelling apple, pear and plum blooms that can be seen en route) also passes through the town, and there's a golf course 10 minutes away by car as well.
In terms of history hunting, you could get out to Middle Littleton Tithe Barn (15 minutes), one of the oldest and largest such structures in England, or ramble around Ragley Hall, Park and Gardens (15 minutes), a 1000-acre estate with spectacular grounds (booking is required).
If you've time to squeeze a few more sights into your itinerary, you could do far worse than a trip to Chipping Campden (20 minutes), a sleepy Cotswold town with honey-coloured houses that was once a hub for the wool trade. Worcester (30 minutes) isn't much further and opens up several more options, from Civil War heritage to modern art and its tangy trademark sauce.
