Blackstone Meadow Holiday Park: Around the campsite

General

  • Award-winning back-to-basics site five minutes' drive from Bewdley
  • Five minutes' drive from West Midlands Safari Park and Go Ape
  • Awnings and barbecues welcome on the large 17 x 19-metre pitches

If you’re the sort that shuns sites with noisome activities, seeking instead simple pleasures and peaceful places, you may have hit the jackpot at Blackstone Meadow Holiday Park.

Turn directly off the A456 just outside Bewdley for three acres of level pasture, with each of the super-sized pitches gifting you a hefty slab of space. Let the kids run free, put up an awning… even set up a grand outdoor dining area if you wish (candelabras optional but always appreciated).

Blackstone is surrounded by greenery and with the River Severn flowing a few minutes’ amble away. Rural ramblings are easily achieved here: start at the wildlife nature reserve just over the road before striding forth on the network of bridleways that radiate out into the surrounding area, or trot up to town in around 25 minutes along a quiet and scenic path to Bewdley's several excellent pubs.

The site's also but a few minutes’ drive from two golf clubs, the West Midland Safari Park, Go Ape at Wyre Forest, and trips on the Severn Valley Railway. When you’re finally tuckered out from whatever activity you selected, retreat to your pitch to sizzle your supper over the barbecue coals (must be raised off the ground) and cosy up for an evening of outdoor eats and perhaps a bottle or two from the Bewdley Brewery.

Please note that as a back to basics site, Blackstone doesn’t have toilets or showers. This site only accepts guests over the age of 14.

Please note

This site has no on-site toilet and shower facilities.

Units longer than 8 metres are not allowed.

Guests under the age of 16 are not allowed on site.

Tents are not accepted at this park.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Single-sex bookings of 3 or more people (couples and immediate family members excepted) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Group bookings of 5 or more adults are not permitted (couples and immediate family members excepted).

Excellent welcome. The owners were friendly and personable throughout our stay. Good facilities on the pitch and everything was clean and in good condition. The alpacas were utterly mesmerising. Good location for walking by the river into Bewdley, a small but attractive town centre.

You should be aware this site has some road noise but it is not overly intrusive.

Great welcome from Hosts and owners Pip and Paul. When you arrive call the number on the board and they will meet you at the gate. Lovely well maintained 15 pitch site, with a mixture of grass and hardstanding level pitches. All pitches have water and electric hook up. Some have grey waste TIP: Take a Wastemaster just in case! But they do have a facility just outside the gate for draing your tanks if you are going in a motor home. In addition they have a clean chemical waste disposal point and recycling bags are on every pitch which are emptied every day.
Pip and Paul are always around maintaining the site and interacting with their guests. We stayed for my partners birthday and they made it so special for her. Thank you!
If you want a get away from it all, peaceful site surrounded by lovely Alpacas roaming free then this is for you. The Alpacas roam free and visit you a couple of times a day. Bit surprising when one or two appear from behind your van when having a morning cuppa!
When we visited there were a lot of young Alpacas, and one that was 3 days old. It was nice to watch them playing and feeding from their mothers.
The site is a 15min walk away from the town of Bewdly with its shops, cafés, bars , restaurants and chip shops.
I very rarely leave reviews but this was a first special visit, and will certainly be not be my last, all ready looking to get another vist in this year.
This site has a lot of repeat business, so book early!

A great family day out nearby is the West Midlands Safari Park, also around five minutes’ drive away. Pick from drive-through zones to see elephants, lions, zebra and rhinos, or walkthrough areas where you can see penguins, become a landing zone for lorikeets and stay a safe distance from a collection of creepy crawlies including a glow-in-the-dark scorpion.

Train fanciers of all ages won’t want to miss a trip on the steam-powered Severn Valley Railway. Hail it at Bewdley and head to Bridgnorth, where you can visit the ruined castle and continue the trainspotting with a ride on the Bridgnorth Cliff Railway, the oldest and steepest inland electric funicular railway in all the land.
