Blackstone Meadow Holiday Park: View of the site

General

  • Award-winning back-to-basics site five minutes' drive from Bewdley
  • Five minutes' drive from West Midlands Safari Park and Go Ape
  • Awnings and barbecues welcome on the large 17 x 19-metre pitches

If you’re the sort that shuns sites with noisome activities, seeking instead simple pleasures and peaceful places, you may have hit the jackpot at Blackstone Meadow Holiday Park.

Turn directly off the A456 just outside Bewdley for three acres of level pasture, with each of the super-sized pitches gifting you a hefty slab of space. Let the kids run free, put up an awning… even set up a grand outdoor dining area if you wish (candelabras optional but always appreciated).

Blackstone is surrounded by greenery and with the River Severn flowing a few minutes’ amble away. Rural ramblings are easily achieved here: start at the wildlife nature reserve just over the road before striding forth on the network of bridleways that radiate out into the surrounding area, or trot up to town in around 25 minutes along a quiet and scenic path to Bewdley's several excellent pubs.

The site's also but a few minutes’ drive from two golf clubs, the West Midland Safari Park, Go Ape at Wyre Forest, and trips on the Severn Valley Railway. When you’re finally tuckered out from whatever activity you selected, retreat to your pitch to sizzle your supper over the barbecue coals (must be raised off the ground) and cosy up for an evening of outdoor eats and perhaps a bottle or two from the Bewdley Brewery.

Please note that as a back to basics site, Blackstone doesn’t have toilets or showers.

Please note

This site has no on-site toilet and shower facilities.

Tents are not accepted at this park.

Units longer than 8 metres are not allowed.

Guests under the age of 16 are not allowed on site.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Single-sex bookings of 3 or more people (couples and immediate family members excepted) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Group bookings of 5 or more adults are not permitted (couples and immediate family members excepted).

Group bookings of 3 or more units (e.g. tent, touring caravan, motorhome or accommodation hire) travelling together are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

From the manager...

Good evening Mrs Yates
Thank you for your review.
A little puzzling that you chose the location and then scored it so low!
It's difficult for me to comment on your accommodation as you brought your own.
Yes, we do have a little road noise sometimes, but that comes with having a great access and Bewdley Town only being a 0.5 mile walk along the riverbank.
The facilities we provide are above what we advertise eg. drinking water on every pitch, recycling bags on every pitch, which are emptied and sorted every morning and grey waste on the majority.
If you have any fair/constructive points to make we would be happy to receive them as we strive to provide the best experience we can for our valued clientele.
I wish you the best and hope you find campsites more attuned to your taste in the future.
Kind regards
The Management Team

Hookups for water and grey waste for each pitch very welcome due to the inclement weather we had during our visit. Loved the alpaca on site and Pip was very welcoming and helpful.

Manual combination on a gate padlock but this was a very minor niggle. Only mention as was not fun for access in the night while raining :)

From the manager...

Good evening Mr B.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a lovely review. Glad you enjoyed the benefits of utilities being on your pitch. Sorry you didn't appreciate the combination lock on the gate, however, it is nice to know the site is secure. Hopefully, if you come again, the weather will be better.

Local attractions

Settle in for a stay here and you’re well placed for nearby attractions to keep adults and nippers happily occupied for days.

Head to the Wyre Forest National Nature Reserve, five minutes or so away in the car, to explore one of the largest oak woodlands in the country on foot, by bike or on horseback. A great family day out nearby is the West Midlands Safari Park, also around five minutes’ drive away. Pick from drive-through zones to see elephants, lions, zebra and rhinos, or walkthrough areas where you can see penguins, become a landing zone for lorikeets and stay a safe distance from a collection of creepy crawlies including a glow-in-the-dark scorpion.

Train fanciers of all ages won’t want to miss a trip on the steam-powered Severn Valley Railway. Hail it at Bewdley and head to Bridgnorth, where you can visit the ruined castle and continue the trainspotting with a ride on the Bridgnorth Cliff Railway, the oldest and steepest inland electric funicular railway in all the land.
