General

  • Toasty and fully-equipped glamping in the Staffordshire countryside
  • Smallholding with llamas, horses, ponies and more
  • Luxury shower block with electric points and fridge/freezer

Rural hols with a touch of luxury are what's around at Glamping West Midlands – and all without pitching a tent or loading up the car with piles of kit… No bumpy ground or sleeping on slopes here, just swish, toasty and fully-equipped accommodation with beds, crisp linen, firepits and outdoor furniture from which to watch the stars.

Set near Enville in the Staffordshire countryside, Glamping West Midlands is a smallholding that's home to llamas, horses, ponies, sheep, chickens and other friendly critters. Walks over meadow, heathland and farmland as well as past pools and lakes are all around; this is a walkers' paradise, so bring your comfy boots. And your irons: a golf club is right next door.

The glamping units come equipped with bedding, towels and a camping stove so you can keep the car boot space free for souvenirs (or beer and/or champers: a fridge and freezer is on site for guests' use). They don't have electricity, but all are atmospherically lit by the use of fairy lights and lanterns, and electric points are available along with the fridge and freezer in the site's luxury shower block.

Please note

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

No cars/motorbikes by the pitch/unit. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

We visited for a two night stay in April with my sister and her children so there were 10 of us in total.

    We absolutely loved staying here.
The children loved stroking the donkeys and llamas and seeing the sheep, horses, pigs, chickens, emu like bird (I can't remember the actual type). The owner allowed us to feed a couple of the animals with a carrot or two which the children again loved.

The field is well kept and the wood fired hot tub provides fun and laughter with getting someone to stoke you up and stir your water as well as a lovely relaxing moment with a glass of wine.

The toilets were well looked after with loo roll and soap etc.
It's great getting away without wifi, but did appreciate the fridge and freezer in the shower block to keep our food in and charge our mobiles.

Everything is provided so you only need to take food, clothes and gas for the camping stove or charcoal/logs for the BBQ.

The firepit is a lovely feature allowing you to have a campfire and all sit round with a hot chocolate.

Great feel to the place and will definitely return.

This is not a 5 star luxury hotel, it's a mongolian yurt in a field with no electricity, with everything you need for a fantastic break. If you are expecting everything to be shiny and new and perfect then this is not for you. If you want to get back to nature in real comfort then this may be for you. The owners are lovely - but avoid boris the cockeral ;-)

Chris was very welcoming and was on hand for anything we need. The set up is great on a farm. The Yurt is super cute with literally everything you need. We used the new hot tub which was great as the weather wasn't great during our stay so great when it's abit nippy. We visited Kinver Edge about 15 minutes away which is a great National Trust park.

    Disliked:

Not so much anything we disliked but the older hot tub didn't work, after hours of trying we couldn't get the water hot and it kept leaking but we managed to use the newer one so all fine. The beds are super hard in the Yurt but lots of blankets which we used so no problems at all.

I loved the look of where we stayed, the road to get there is bumpy. We were shown where things are and saw large eggs…I love the idea of outdoor wood fired sauna, we went there one really cold evening and it would be nice if it’s hot and not so cold outside. We had a nice time…

    Disliked:

Cold, the ground was hard to walk on as it rained a lot, slimy, some outdoor wood was slippery and the floor smelled like alcohol and dirty under a big bed( use light to check) The water was cold and no lockers on toilet or shower…

We enjoyed everything about our getaway! We were greeted and showed around and made to feel very welcome and relaxed. Our little one loved going over the field to spend time with the animals and made good friends with the donkeys, the animals were lovely and friendly. The yurt was cosy and had everything that we needed, the beds were unbelievably comfy! The hot tub was an added special treat to the holiday, we throughly enjoyed staying here and shall be visiting again, I will be booking for a longer stay next time :) great experience!

Everything!! My best friend and I travelled with our three children aged between 10-15 and we loved absolutely everything about our little trip to chris’ amazing place. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by Chris and all her lovely animals and within minutes after showing us around the facilities, Chris took our girls for a walk with the dogs and to show them the animals. Yurts have everything you need, clean and cozy especially of a night with the candles on and there’s an abundance of fleecy blankets should you need them. Kids had the best time in the hot tub of a night while we enjoyed a beer round the fire pit with our adopted little friend Alfie the dog!! We made some fabulous memories with our children and were gutted to leave!!! We can’t wait to come back!! Chris you’ve done a wonderful job with your farm, thank you for our fabulous trip we couldn’t have loved it more!! ❤️

Not a dislike but more of a recommendation to maybe think about getting some locks on the toilet doors.

From the manager...

Thank you so much for your lovely review! i love kids who love animals.

I will add locks on the toilet door. Great idea, why didn't I think of it?

Look forward to seeing you all again.

Children enjoyed free range of farm land, and friendly animals

    Disliked:

I was advised it was a 6birth Yurt, 5 beds and a blow up mattress, it actually was 4beds + a blow up mattress on the floor, (2 adult 3 children from 10-15) the Yurt leaked rain water, and bedding got wet. yurt was poorly maintained. Though hot tub had clean water in on our first day, inside felt slimy , and water was green by day 2. Shared fridges were filthy. And toilet block adjacent to Yurts had a filthy hand towel that remained through out our 3 day stay.

From the manager...

I'm sorry that the Hilary's didn't enjoy their stay, sadly I have no control over the weather.
The yurts are 4 berth. One double bed and 2 single beds but I am able to put up 2 airbeds should they be required.Maximum accommodation is 6 as stated in the site information. No where does it say that it has 5 beds. Where was that information obtained?
The yurts are traditional Mongolian yurts and have suffered the English weather really well. No one has complained of rain coming in unless they leave the roof window open.
The hot tub was for their sole use during their 2 not 3 day stay. They were perfectly at liberty to change the water in the hot tub any time they wished, after all it was their slime and no one else was the cause.
The towels in the toilets are changed daily.
