What customers say
This spacious site by the lakes is praised for its friendly staff, clean and warm shower blocks, and good value. Anglers find the well-stocked fishing lakes ideal. Some visitors mention road noise from the nearby M69. Occasional issues with toilet cleanliness, blocked drains, and running out of toilet paper have been noted, though many reviews highlight the excellent facilities.

Lovely quiet site . Well thought out pitches
Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Hardstanding on electric . Each post had own water tap and lit up on a night .
Shower/toilet block clean ladies . Mens and disabled . 2 showers in ladies very impressed. Reception sold some grocery items but didn't really look around it when I was booking in .
2 lakes for fishing if interested.
Disliked Booked through pitch up and says press on map for directions but that sent us to a golf driving range. Luckily Makins Lakes is just passed the driving range . Nothing to do with Mikins Lakes but thought it was worth mentioning

Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Closeness to facilities. Very helpful host upon arrival and staff very helpful too about the fishing side of things. My partner very pleased he caught some fish!
Disliked Not being able to fish with my partner as no dogs allowed by any of the lakes. Would be nice to have a dedicated lake for guests

Good place but mis-information.
Electric grass pitch
Liked Lake 4
Disliked We wanted to fish on Reptile due to matches on other lakes but were told that both Phase two and three were closed, not advertised on website.
We then opted to fish on Lake 4 but were told there was a match on so we opted to go on Lake 5 where again there was a match scheduled but there were pegs available. The match on Lake 5 never took place as we fished there all day, on return to our tent later that day we saw that there was also no match on Lake 4 with pleasure anglers everywhere.
In addition, cafe only open from early up to 10am despite being advertised open till 2pm.

Liked Easy access, great communication and good size pitches
Disliked The ladies facilities were dirty, 3 out of the 5 toilets were blocked from other campers and not cleaned for close to 24 hours. The floors were not cleaned at that time, only toilets flushed out.
