Settle yourselves down here, Shakespeare fans: Dodwell Park is just two miles from Shakespeare’s birthplace, Anne Hathaway’s cottage and all the bardly attractions of Stratford-upon-Avon. There’s peace, there’s quiet, there’s a countryside setting – and if all that still isn’t enough for a final attempt to get the kids (and dog) reading sonnets, you can culture-ise them by taking them along to nearby Warwick Castle for all sorts of horrible history. Sorted. Dodwell Park is a small family-run site where the amenities are kept to spotless standards, with free hot showers, dishwashing facilities and hairdryers to keep the barnet looking tiptop. A shop and off-licence is on site, and armfuls of leaflets are at the information stand with info on Stratford-upon-Avon and other local tourist attractions. Nearby are Cotswold villages with Shakespearely thatched inns, walks and cruises along the River Avon and the hills of the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Boating, fishing and old buildings are at Luddington village about three miles from Dodwell Park. Leaving the car behind to avoid hiking up car parking costs in Stratford? A regular bus service stops right outside the site.

Disliked Shower block was dated and needed a complete refresh.
Expensive rates for the facilities compared with others.

Liked Lovely welcome, very quiet at night, got great sleep. Bus service is good.

Disliked The showers, only the first one in worked well, the drain could have been better if the other showers were being used the drain couldn't cope. The dressing area very small, short on hooks and missing shelves in the shower.

Liked The staff were lovely. The toilet block was dated however and the showers need renovating. They were awful. First night was very noisy. No barrier and a car drive around, then a very loud argument for 2 hours.

Liked Perfect for visiting Stratford with the bus stop right outside the entrance. A lovely 3 mile walk back along the river to the site at the end of the day. Ample pitches, lovely hot showers, friendly staff and a very peaceful site.

Liked It was quite on the touring pitch. However, noisy occupant from the statics on the other side of the fence disturbed my peace and quiet.
