Local attractions

Long Itchington and surrounding area is crisscrossed with numerous footpaths, canal towpaths and two disused railway lines. The railway lines come together to form a junction in a deep cutting that is spanned by an impressive iron bridge that time seems to have forgotten. The village of Long Itchington has seven pubs within walking distance, a small supermarket and a Chinese restaurant with a greasy spoon-style diner. Within easy walking distance from the Tiny Wooden House are a farm shop with café/restaurant and another pub with spectacular views. Pubs within walking distance via footpaths/canal: The Green Man: excellent real ale pub. Doesn't serve food but a chip van visits on a Friday around 8pm and proves to be very popular as the chips can be eaten from the paper in the pub with your favorite drink. Dog friendly. The Buck and Bell: excellent beers and a magnificent restaurant. Restaurant recommended. Dogs in bar only. The White Heart: a challenging walk will reward you with excellent beer and fantastic food. Well worth a visit. No dogs. The Harvester: bar nosh and restaurant with some real ale. The bar nosh is the best value around but the pub is a little run down. Very friendly but the general ambience found in this pub will not suit all. Dog friendly. The Cuttle: good food, good beer. Climbing frames for children and canal frontage. Dogs welcome. The Two Boats: great beer and great food; occupies a quaint canalside location. Dogs welcome. The Blue Lias: great food and beer. Interesting internal architectural appointment. No dogs. The Duck on the Pond: this friendly, food-focused pub in the village of Long Itchington has cask ales, lagers, wines and a great selection of soft drinks to suit everyone's tipple, while the seasonal and special menus of homemade meals will ensure even the fussiest of eaters won't go hungry. Dogs allowed. Shops/restaurants: The Hilltop Shop and Café: fantastic butcher and general supplies with top-quality, locally sourced fresh produce. The breakfast and lunch are highly recommended in the café! Within walking distance via footpaths. There's lots to see and do in and around the following towns and cities...
