General
Forestside Farm near Uttoxeter in Staffordshire is the epitome of “small is beautiful”.
With just ten grassy pitches for tents, plus a smattering of cosy camping pods, this clean, green and serene site has won plaudits from the Rough Guide to Camping and Tiny Campsites for its lovely location and high-quality facilities, which include spotless showers and loos, a washing up area, and a fridge, freezer, microwave and kettle for campers. There’s also a small coarse fishing pond on site.
Once you take in the vista of the Weaver Hills and Dove Valley, you’ll be itching to put your walking boots on and explore the rolling countryside. Close to the village of Marchington, Forestside is the perfect place to unwind and relax.

From the A50 take the A515 towards Lichfield.
Ignore all signs to Marchington, until you have left Draycott in the Clay.
At Six Roads End - signed for Burton to the left, and take the right turn to Marchington (the fourth turning to Marchington since leaving the A50).
Continue along this road (Forest Road), bear right at the finger post, and down a steep hill through the wood (Marchington Cliff).
The Farm drive is on the left immediately past Cliff Cottage (this is not where you pay!).
Please continue over the cattle grid along the drive to the very end and check in at the farmhouse.
Local attractions
Despite its arcadian location, Forestside Farm offers easy access to a really diverse range of attractions: the picturesque Peak District; the forests, fishing and fallow deer of Cannock Chase; the Museum of Childhood at sumptuous Sudbury Hall, just one of a cluster of excellent National Trust properties nearby; the heritage city of Lichfield; the charming market town of Ashbourne; and the Wedgwood and Portmeirion potteries at Stoke on Trent.
Those in search of something thrilling after all that countrified chilling can head to Alton Towers, only 25 minutes away; Drayton Manor in Tamworth, which has the added draw of a great zoo and “Thomas Land”, for fans of the famous tank engine; or to the splashy slides, rides and flumes of Waterworld in Stoke on Trent.
