What customers say

This quiet and peaceful campsite offers a friendly and helpful welcome from the owners. Visitors praise the spacious, unallocated pitches and direct access to woodland for walks. Communal facilities include a games room with a pool table, a fridge, and tea/coffee making supplies. Basic but clean toilet facilities are available. While some guests noted the absence of showers, most found the experience relaxing and highly recommend it for a getaway.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Richard is super lovely, welcoming and helpful, and had allocated me the perfect pitch, one that gave me privacy, meaning I felt very comfortable as a solo camper.
The campsite is in a quiet, rural location, but close enough to Litchfield to walk there and back, if you like long walks. I did a circular route and the distabce was approx 12 km.
I'd happily stay here again.

Local attractions

Pencil in an afternoon at least for Lichfield, to roam around the towering triple-spire cathedral dating back to the 12th century, survey the displays at writer Samuel Johnson’s museum and birthplace, or have a gander at Erasmus Darwin’s Grade I-listed Georgian house and close. If more historical expeditions are on the agenda, the ruins of the Wall Roman Site are under 10 minutes’ drive away. Sights of a more recent nature include the National Trust’s Shugborough Estate (half an hour) – a grand Georgian manor with a bright white exterior – and The National Memorial Arboretum, the UK’s year-round national site of remembrance (20 minutes away). Just outside Lichfield (10 minutes’ drive) is Stowe Pool reservoir for picnics beside the banks. Another place prime for post-hike alfresco meals with a view in the area is the Castle Ring Iron Age hill fort high up on a hilltop (also 10 minutes away). Up for a bit of thrillseeking instead? The rides of Drayton Manor Theme Park are a 20-minute drive away, while the Curborough Sprint Course – where you can speed sprint in a timed car race – is accessible within 15 minutes.
