What customers say
This adults-only site is praised for its immaculate facilities, particularly the luxury hotel-standard shower and toilet blocks, and spacious, level, fully-serviced pitches. Friendly and helpful owners contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, with many guests appreciating thoughtful touches like complimentary ice and laundry. Secure access, good Wi-Fi, and a convenient location for local villages and towns are frequently highlighted. Occasional noise from a nearby quarry, busy road, and railway line is noted, alongside limited on-site dog walking areas.

Refused entry despite prior approval of our late arrival.
Fully-serviced gravel and hardstanding touring pitch (large)
Liked Unfortunately, nothing. We were refused entry despite having written confirmation that our later arrival had been agreed, so we never had the opportunity to experience the site or its facilities.
Disliked We were extremely disappointed with our experience. Before travelling we emailed to explain we may arrive later than planned (as stated in the details)due to work commitments and because we were travelling with three elderly dogs, one of whom has dementia. We received a reply confirming this was absolutely fine and that they would look out for us.
When we arrived we were refused entry by a man who appeared to be intoxicated and behaved in a very hostile manner. We had paid in full, including extra for our dogs and awning, yet were left with nowhere to stay and had to drive all the way home before finding alternative accommodation at our own expense.
One of our elderly dogs became extremely distressed by the whole ordeal. This may have been one of the last weekends we have with her, which made the experience even more heartbreaking. We chose this site because it appeared to be very dog friendly.
The lack of communication between staff was unacceptable, especially when we had written confirmation that a later arrival had been agreed. We would not have felt comfortable returning for the second night after the hostility we experienced. We also had to pay an additional £56 for alternative accommodation.
We have used Pitchup on several occasions before and have never experienced anything like this. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this site.
Another point of concern is that after we were refused entry on the Friday evening, nobody from the site contacted us on the Saturday to apologise, check on us, or discuss whether we would still be arriving for our second night. Instead, they simply kept our payment. We felt completely let down and ignored, especially after we had made every effort to communicate our circumstances in advance.

Fantastic place and well worth the 5* it has.
Fully-serviced gravel and hardstanding touring pitch (large)
Liked It was truly amazing, very safe and secure with codes to get you in or out. Grounds were immaculate, water access at the side of each hook up, but, save the best till last the toilets and showers were simply stunning, pristine and tissues cotton wool and ear buds left in. Marble showers that were better than any shower I’ve ever had! The hosts are friendly but absolutely outstanding in their hospitality. Will definitely come again, truly remarkable!
Disliked Not too much to walk to and felt quite nervous with the lorries thundering past!
