Smart Shropshire stays are what’s on offer at Stoney Acres Luxury Holiday Park, a peaceful adults-only touring site in a handy location just off the A49 about 15 minutes’ drive south of Shrewsbury. Easy access to the main road means that it’s simple to get out and explore your surroundings from this park, whether you’re heading up into town, going south into the Shropshire Hills National Landscape or aiming to take in places like Ludlow and the museums of Ironbridge. Once you’ve parked up on site, you can leave the car behind and get around by public transport if you prefer. Handy bus services to Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Church Stretton leave from the nearby village of Dorrington (10 minutes’ walk away). There are plenty more useful things in the village too – it’s got a village shop, a butchers, a restaurant and a gastropub to make mealtimes easy (whether you’re doing your own cooking or eating out). Back on site, you’ll be staying at a pretty park with landscaped grounds and the extra level of peace you get from a child-free environment. As the name suggests, everything here has been designed to give a sense of luxury to your stay – the bathrooms, for example, have underfloor heating, rainfall showers and granite worktops, along with handy extras like hair dryers. Each pitch has a 16-amp electric supply, a drinking water and waste water facility and a digital TV hookup, and you’ll also have access to shared facilities including a laundry room, ultrafast fibre wifi and a dog wash station to avoid muddy paws after walks with your four-legged pal. The modern design also means this park is fully accessible to guests with disabilities.

  • A cable measuring at least 7 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.

  • 10 kWh of electricity is included per day. Additional usage is metered on site at £0.29p per kWh and is payable on departure.

Liked It was truly amazing, very safe and secure with codes to get you in or out. Grounds were immaculate, water access at the side of each hook up, but, save the best till last the toilets and showers were simply stunning, pristine and tissues cotton wool and ear buds left in. Marble showers that were better than any shower I’ve ever had! The hosts are friendly but absolutely outstanding in their hospitality. Will definitely come again, truly remarkable!

Disliked Not too much to walk to and felt quite nervous with the lorries thundering past!

Liked An outstanding site,run by fabulous couple who cannot do enough for you,on your stay and genuinely enjoy helping you out in any way.
The site is spotless and superbly maintained with showers,I wish I had back home,toilets spotless,a laundry room and just a great vibe around the place.
I never knew how beautiful Shropshire is,and how much it has to offer.
Can't recommend this site enough,and will definitely be staying here again....

Liked There is nothing to dislike about this site. Amazing toilet block amazing pitch and excellent location to explore this part of the country. Site owners are the nicest people we have encountered in our travels. Outstanding service and nothing was too much touble. This will be our go to site for the season.

Liked What a fantastic site- really friendly greeting and really nice dog friendly site. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again - in fact, when we return to Shropshire we would 100% be staying here.

Liked Great fully serviced pitch and secure gated facility. Grounds kept neat and tidy and toilets and showers were amazing - very luxurious indeed! Appreciated the music 🎶 whilst brushing my teeth 🪥
0.6 mile walk to the nearest pub and bus stop into Shrewsbury on a very busy road.

Disliked Road noise from the busy HGV traffic.
Occasional train could be heard too.
Seem to be some heavy plant work going on next door and shooting/demolition/quarry heard this morning. WiFi was intermittent.
Pitches weren't particularly private and no where to dispose of grey waste/drive over grate. People walking across your pitch to use the shower/toilet block.
Would have liked to have seen more recycling facilities on site.
Not sure if this stay provided value for money tbh?

The Shropshire Hills National Landscape is well known as a lovely place for a walk, and you’ll be in prime position to explore from Stoney Acres. Some of the best known places to head for are Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd (15 minutes’ drive) and the Stiperstones National Nature Reserve (35 minutes), but there are plenty of quieter trails to seek out too. There are lots of historic locations to visit around this area too – perhaps you’d like to stroll around the grounds of Attingham Park Estate (15 minutes), step further back in time at Wroxeter Roman City (15 minutes) or get to know the various museums of Ironbridge Gorge (half an hour), a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a symbol of the Industrial Revolution. For more days out, find boat trips and canoe hire in Shrewsbury (15 minutes) or head south to Ludlow (35 minutes) to browse its foodie shops, tour its gin distillery and see its ruined castle.
