  • Three-acre rural Shropshire site 10 minutes' drive from Oswestry
  • Walk to nature reserves or canal; Chirk Castle 20 minutes' drive
  • Easy access from A483; food pub and farm shop a few mins' walk
Three fabulous acres of Shropshire countryside await for guests at Overdale Camping – and with guest numbers kept to a sensible limit there's always space to relax, play games or have barbecue evenings. Shropshire is the official location of this small-scale family-run site (it’s about three miles south of Oswestry) but it's also handily close to the Welsh border, so you’ll be able to spend your days taking in attractions and activities on both sides. And although this is a proper rural spot, it's easily accessed from the A483 so getting out and about should be nice and straightforward. Lots of excellent natural landscapes and man-made attractions are close by for your days out, but in fact you won’t have to go that far to stretch your legs, because there are several nature reserves within walking distance and the Montgomery Canal cycle trail is about a mile away. Also handily close by are a farm shop and a pub serving drinks and meals – both within five minutes' walk. On site, guests have access to facilities including toilets, showers and a kitchen, and there are firepits available to hire for atmospheric campfire evenings.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: I camped for one night solo. The field has plenty of space, is flat and very well kept. Great toilet and shower facilities and a small washing up area under cover. Complimentary shower gels are in all the showers too. The pub next door is just a couple of minutes walk and also has excellent food. The owners are very friendly and welcoming of motorbike travellers. Would certainly stay again.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike.

Camping pod (four person)

Liked: Hidden behind a house is very spacious camp site in a lovely setting. We stayed in a four person pod, which was comfortable, clean and perfect for our needs. Toilets and showers were excellent, they appeared to be new, they were clean and worked very well. Kids loved an evening in the hot tub, which was heated by logs. The owners were very nice people and couldn’t be more helpful. Totally recommend this site for anyone wanting to stay in the area.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Lovely spacious site, flat field, clean nice facilities, pub 5 minute walk serving good, well priced food. Warm welcome and friendly owners. Surprisingly quiet considering proximity of main road. We'd go again.

Disliked: Entrance to site needs to be a bit tidier for first impressions and a nice sign maybe?

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: overdale camping is a new camp site, and when i visited there was no signs.it is next to metalworld (no noise), just north of the Llyiys crossroads.house is reception.it is being changed from a garden centre to a campsite. 50 m drive though various garden centre stuff brings you into a nice flat field, pegs just push in. woodland, trees, cow pasture make a nice view.the toilets are in a container and are new. 2 unisex toilets,1 shower, 1 washhand basin. 1 outside tap. pub within mts prebook.

Disliked: as yet needs tidying

From the manager: Thank you for your review , As you rightly pointed out we are new to the camping / glamping scene and all feed back is necessary for us to improve, we have improved the approach in the last few days and will continue to do so. It is far better for you to tell us so we can improve. We should point out the toilets are not unisex as we have separate male/female showers and toilets. New signs have been ordered to make it easier to find us (Sy10 8ae) Once again I thank you for your feed back, Yours Ned
