  • Well-maintained site between Oswestry and Shrewsbury, off the A5
  • Within 20 minutes' drive of Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Wroxeter
  • Pool table, dog walk, showers, toilets and launderette
You’ll be tickled pink with a stay at Cranberry Moss Caravan Park, a sweet site in rural Shropshire. First up, it's surrounded by the peaceful county betwixt England and Wales that’s long been a bolthole for those seeking quiet rural times: even the invading Romans escaped here in between all that empire building… Next up, this is a well placed site for getting out and about among Shropshire’s activities and attractions – of which there are many, for the county’s gentle pace doesn’t mean a lack of stuff to do. Far from it: from Cranberry Moss you can roll along to world-famed attractions like Ironbridge Gorge, the Saxon – and Tudor – country town of Shrewsbury, and hikes or gentle strolls aplenty among the Long Mynd, Stretton Hills and the Wrekin, all part of the Shropshire Hills of Outstanding Natural Beauty. All this is most easily accessed, as the site is just off the A5 in a handy spot between Oswestry (15 minutes’ drive) and Shrewsbury (20 minutes). For times when you’re not out roaming, there’s a pool table and a dog walk area where canines can stretch their paws. Everyday needs are easily sorted here too, as the amenities include showers, toilets, a washing-up area and a launderette – these last two with spectacular Shropshire views to make your tasks less tiresome.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Clean and hot showers spacious well looked after pitches, staff very friendly and helpful.

Disliked WiFi but new hubs being fitted while we're there. Always look for a Pub on site prior to booking but it was closed. Shouldn't be advertised. Shower great but did not work on the 1 day.

From the manager: Hi Graham,

Firstly thank you for your 7 star review, I’m sorry to read that you wouldn’t return to Cranberry Moss due to the bar not being open. Unfortunately due to being a small & friendly caravan park it isn’t financially viable to open the bar out of season as we don’t have enough footfall through the door, the bar will next be open at easter. Also I am sorry about the shower issue which was resolved within 30 minutes of being notified. The fuse had blown on the boiler which I would like to add was sorted straight away. Also your comment about no signs for the chemical toilet / elsan point shocks me due to this is something I told you about on checkin where everything was. And the sign on the door to the chemical toilet point couldn’t be any bigger. Regarding the WiFi, you could clearly see that we were having the new WiFi system fitted during your visit as this is something you have stated. May I add top of the range starlink WiFi with pod points around the park for the best WiFi connection for our customers !

Many thanks Ash & Az

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked A warm welcome from the staff, good size pitch, shower facilities with very clean, hot showers. It was out of season so no queuing.

Disliked Dog walking area was small but good however if a couple of dogs were in there it could be a bit difficult. However just if site thee was a bridle way with a lovely walk if more space needed.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked fabulous site. staff are superb and know the local sites and pubs.
toilets and showers are spotless, I felt guilty using them, they also have music playing so found myself singing along quite loudly.

15 mins from Oswestry, Shrewsbury and perhaps 25 mins from Welshpool by car the site has bus stops within 5 mins walk to Oswestry and Shrewsbury

easily get to Llangollen in 25 mins too

Disliked cant thing of anything bad tbh

Electric grass pitch

Liked The campsite is very well maintained and VERY clean showers and toilets and friendliness of the owners and residents was exceptional. I stayed this week by myself in a tent when it was snowing and the staff and residents couldn't have been more generous offering me fire wood and warm brews. Will definitely be back but when its a-bit warmer 😂

Disliked Although cant be helped, the site is near a main road

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Another quiet stay - and so nice to have a pre and post stay message from Ash, just checking I’d found a nice pitch and had a good stay; that level of personal care really makes me keep coming back (also: Loved the newly spruced-up facilities, and a properly hot shower!)

Local attractions

Shropshire’s absolutely stacked with things to do – outdoorsy activities, museums, castles, arty attractions, theatres, shops… If you’re blinded by choice or need a bit of inspiration, who better to ask than the folk on site, local experts who’ll happily dole out a bit of advice. Among the top picks they might point you towards are the splendid estates of Attingham Park (20 minutes’ drive), a National Trust property where you can paddle canoes or frolic in the Field of Play, and Weston Park (40 minutes), to stroll through gardens designed by the famed Capability Brown. Those Roman visitors left a bit of stuff behind when they moved on, and you can see their style on a trip to Wroxeter Roman City (20 minutes). This area was central to more recent history too – notably at Ironbridge (35 minutes), birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site packed with fab museums and family-friendly attractions. If you’re in the company of kids (or indeed grownups) fascinated by all things that move, pack them into the car for the 40-minute drive to see the planes at the Royal Air Force Museum or to take a steam-driven ride on the Severn Valley Railway from Bridgnorth.
