16-amp electric grass pitch

Liked Loved this site and will return. Friendly welcome from Robin. Pitches are level and some are terraced. Nice views whichever field you are in. All very open and sunny. Bathrooms kept clean. In field 3 there are 2 x male and 2 x female shower rooms which include toilet and sink. Also a single washing up sink with a view out over the fields. Field 1 contains 2 x unisex shower rooms, again with toilet and sink and in a separate but adjoining cabin, 2 x male and 2 x female toilets with sinks. About 1 mile to Ellesmere which is pretty with a few pubs and independent shops, and a Tesco. Easy walk from here to the Mere.

Disliked Nothing I disliked, but if being really picky, it would be nice to have a couple of toilet cubicles in field 3 in case the showers are occupied.

Electric hardstanding pitch

Liked Quiet, clean site with very good facilities. Owners were very welcoming, and we managed to arrive just as the Friday night Pizza ovens had been fired up, so that was tea sorted. Close to all amenities and easy to travel out to numerous attractions around the area.

Disliked Not a dislike but just a note/consideration for anyone with a motorhome/campervan with fixed onboard waste water tank, no drive over waste water drain (unless we missed it!)

16-amp electric grass pitch

Liked Peaceful adult only site. Lovely shower/toilet/washing up block.
Lovely owner and wardens.
Mix of seasonal pitches and tourer pitches.
15 min walk from town.
Large Tesco in canal basin. Lots of cafes and shops. The mere is beautiful. Tow paths for a nice relaxing walk and chat to the boaters. Dog walking field. Dogs on lead as livestock around as its a farm. Can't wait to return.
Everyone friendly.

16-amp electric grass pitch

Liked A really friendly welcome started our visit off the best way possible. We were shown to a fabulous pitch with incredible views. We were even allowed to park whichever way we wanted to enjoy those views. We overlooked the horses field & loved watching them & the neighbouring goat who was a character, it was so peaceful. We had water & electric on the pitch. The facilities were spotless and a lot of effort had gone into making the place look pretty with stunning hanging baskets and flower displays & fruit trees lining the entrance drive which is gated. The site pretty much enjoys panoramic views, it is in a stunning position. All in all we both agreed this place has become one of our absolute favourites. Thanks!

Disliked Nothing - we loved it!

Local attractions

The peaty, boggy habitat of Fenn’s, Whixall & Bettisfield Mosses National Nature Reserve (25 minutes’ drive) attracts assorted wildlife, from birds of prey and waders to lizards and colourful butterflies. There are far-reaching views of the wetlands from the top of the five-metre Mammoth Tower. The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (25 minutes) was constructed in the early 1800s to allow the Llangollen branch of the Shropshire Union Canal to cross the River Dee. You’ll need a head for heights to stroll along its path, but there are splendid views of the Welsh countryside to be had from 38 metres above ground. And you might see a barge or two navigating the aqueduct’s waters… Built by the Romans, Chester (50 minutes) is surrounded by centuries-old defensive walls with elevated walkways. The city’s ancient heritage can also be seen at the Roman Amphitheatre and at the 12th-century Agricola Tower, a stone gateway with a frescoed chapel. Shropshire's county town of Shrewsbury (35 minutes) is worth a trip too, for a stroll around the castle and abbey and a boat trip along the River Severn.
