16-amp electric grass pitch

Liked Friendly owners and a pitch with a good view. We were allowed to park our caravan front in first, so we got to wake with a view.
The added bonus of a visiting butcher selling their goods, although we didn't know they were coming, or we would have bought more rather than shop beforehand, same goes for the pizza people on Saturday evening.

Disliked Shower block was very dated, badly cracked floor tiles.
Only one sink in the pan wash area, although was kept clean.
A very dusty site, coming off the field where the horses play.
Pitches felt like they were crammed in, and a lot of campers, caravans and tents in what felt a large open space, but all pushed to the edges

Liked We spent 4 days at Newnes Touring Caravan Park and the sun shone every day, making our pitch perfect for sunset views. We had a partly serviced touring caravan pitch and made good use of the very clean, modern onsite facilities, including a really hot shower every day.

Liked Superb campsite. Spotlessly clean facilities and the pizza tent in the Friday evening was a lovely touch 🤩🤩 the owners are incredibly friends and more than helpful. Beautiful walk into Ellesmere town took 15 minutes. Already booked to return! Probably the best we’ve stayed!

16-amp electric grass pitch

Liked I was contacted prior to arrival due to the hot weather and as we had dogs given pitch 41 to make sure they had shade, also told the gate code .
On arrival the pitch 41 had great views then met by the very friendly owner who gave us loads of info about the site and places to go.
3 different fields of campers and they are all very well spaced out. Pitch 41 is next to the very well kept toilet block and that suited us.
Nothing to do with Newnes farm but 3 mobile had no data signal but had mobile signal (an advisory comment to stop any future dislikes) it just meant we could step off the roundabout for a couple of brilliant days.

Liked Sited in field three above the pond. Beautiful view. Hard standing, nice and level, electric and water on the pitch. Each washroom has Individual shower, toilet and wash basin, very clean and tidy would definitely recommend and will return to stay again.

Disliked Very minor, a couple of the seasonal pitch holders, need to slow their driving and respect others staying. Tracks are dusty so chill with the right foot.

Local attractions

The peaty, boggy habitat of Fenn’s, Whixall & Bettisfield Mosses National Nature Reserve (25 minutes’ drive) attracts assorted wildlife, from birds of prey and waders to lizards and colourful butterflies. There are far-reaching views of the wetlands from the top of the five-metre Mammoth Tower. The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (25 minutes) was constructed in the early 1800s to allow the Llangollen branch of the Shropshire Union Canal to cross the River Dee. You’ll need a head for heights to stroll along its path, but there are splendid views of the Welsh countryside to be had from 38 metres above ground. And you might see a barge or two navigating the aqueduct’s waters… Built by the Romans, Chester (50 minutes) is surrounded by centuries-old defensive walls with elevated walkways. The city’s ancient heritage can also be seen at the Roman Amphitheatre and at the 12th-century Agricola Tower, a stone gateway with a frescoed chapel. Shropshire's county town of Shrewsbury (35 minutes) is worth a trip too, for a stroll around the castle and abbey and a boat trip along the River Severn.
