Badger camping pod
Liked: Lovely site, very clean, nice toilet facilities and the kitchen area is lovely too with a microwave, sink and tables to sit at, along with two small fridges and a little freezer. The Badger pod was wonderful to stay in, and the fire pit was set up with wood provided for all three nights. Sam met me after I arrived with a map of the area and pointed out some walks I could take the dog on around the mere which was beautiful, and the local pubs and places to see.
Disliked: Wish the WiFi reached the huts, and that there was a stove or some kind of way of making pasta/noodles/rice etc.

From the manager: Hi Harri Thanks for your kind review and we are pleased you enjoyed Badger Pod and your stay with us. Just to point out that cooking is not allowed in the pods, due to H & S reasons, but we do allow BBQ's. The communal area 50 meters away has WIFI and cooking facilities to use. Thanks for booking with us and we very much hope to see you again in the future. Best wishes Ingrid and Dave🌞

Non-electric grass campervan pitch
Liked: Lovely peaceful site with large pitches. Because the site is on undulating ground it makes it feel like there are less people there than there are. Pitches are mown but the grass in between I kept longer so feels you’re in the wild. Beautiful covered communal area with washing up facilities, microwave, seating, fridge and heating for when it gets cold. Site is literally 2 minutes from Colemere (lake) and about a 15 minute walk from canal which you can follow into Ellesmere.
Disliked: Nothing that I can think of.

Liked: The site was absolutely beautiful - so much space and incredibly well-maintained. We loved the communal area (which even had a toaster!) and the nice vibes / social atmosphere in there on the evening. The location is fantastic and there’s loads to do in the area, the site is right on the mere which is a lovely walk and not far at all from the canal which, again, is a lovely walk and leads right into Ellesmere - we were also given a map with some routes on and a list of suggestions of what we could do locally which was a lovely touch.
Disliked: The facilities are lovely, but there aren’t many - it was quite quiet when we stayed, so luckily not much of an issue but I can imagine it being a bit trickier when busy. One of the two female toilets also ran out of toilet roll a couple of times during our stay (meaning there was only one toilet available) and there was also only one place to wash dishes. The owners were away when we visited, but the person looking after the site in their absence was quite rude and hostile / not the most welcoming - they actually weren’t there when we arrived either, but a guest at the site who goes regularly was there to greet us and she was LOVELY.

From the manager: Thanks for your comments! Sorry we where not here to greet you on arrival and on balance feel we do have ample facilities in place with 6 toilets, 5 showers, with inside and outside sinks for dishes. We feel we have trust and faith in our staff that on occasion help us out so we can have a break. Thank you for your booking and very much hope you return in the future. Best wishes Ingrid and Dave🌞

Liked: The site was beautiful and when we visited very quiet! The owners were fantastic. They messaged the day of our arrival and then met us when we arrived. They provided us with a map of the local area with some lovely walks. We walked to a local pub for diner based on their recommendations. The facilities were fantastic and well maintained! We would 100% recommend the site!

From the manager: Hello Nicholas Thanks for you review! Bit confused you haven't stated your reason for your low scoring. However, I'm 99% sure the reason is because as a result of complaints from other guests I had to tell you to stop your two Cockerpoo’s from barking every time someone walked past! The quieter pitch which you were shown, you declined because it was 80m further from the facilities. On balance If you had informed me of the issue before your arrival, I could have reserved a more suitable location. Many thanks Dave

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Absolutely amazing place to stay. Good size pitches, spotlessly clean toilets and washroom facilities. They have a barn type area with kitchen appliances and utensils that you can use or just sit inside and relax. There is also booklets and information about things to do in area. The hosts are so friendly and welcoming . There is a woodland path around a lake that you can wander. Local amenities are all within 7 miles, from major supermarkets to discount stores. At night, the surrounding area is in darkness, so bring a torch and just look at the skies , we will definitely be returning. They keep the pitch area grass short, so expect a few lose blades of grass. The other campers were friendly and chatty

Electric grass touring pitch
Liked: - Friendly welcome - Peaceful site - Very well kept and great facilities - Good size pitches - Beautiful walks around the lake right next to the site We'll be back for sure!
Disliked: - The midges we're pretty bad so make sure you stock on up smidge and get a fire going in the evening (available from the owner) - Wifi didn't get to the field we were on, and the phone signal was non-existent (O2/Three).
