Fancy a bit of fishing during your Shropshire break? How about a game of golf? Both are very possible at Lakeside Country Park, a well-maintained park that’s right next door to a golf course and a fishing lake.
And it’s not just a small course here – the Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club has a 27-hole course, plus a welcoming bar and restaurant for a well-earned drink and meal once you’ve made your way round. Bring your fishing kit along as well if you’d like to try your luck in the park’s well-stocked coarse fishing lake.
Sitting just on the border between Shropshire and Worcestershire, this site is surrounded by fabulous countryside, with plenty of great walking trails and cycling routes close by. The Wyre Forest is about 10 minutes’ drive away for a start, and the southern reaches of the Shropshire Hills National Landscape are 15 minutes away. It’s not a remote spot though – there’s easy access from the A4117 and Cleobury Mortimer is five minutes’ drive away for a pub, a small supermarket and a community café. Kidderminster and Ludlow are both about 25 minutes’ drive away when you need a bigger town.
This site is set up for self-contained tourers so please note there are no guest toilets or showers. A running water supply is available though, and you’re welcome to bring a barbecue if you wish.

- Swimming in the lake is not allowed.
- Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.
