General site view

  • Small rural pop-up site 10 minutes’ drive from Witney in the Cotswolds
  • The Farmer’s Dog and Blenheim Palace both 15 minutes’ drive
  • Grass pitches on a wildlife haven with far-reaching rural views
If you’re looking for a back-to-nature stay in the glorious Cotswolds countryside, that’s exactly what you’ll get at Hum Hideaway, a pop-up site 10 minutes’ drive from the shops and pubs of Witney in Oxfordshire. This peaceful spot has grass pitches on a quiet corner of a farm, and offers up amazing countryside views in a peaceful rural environment – if you’re lucky, you might just get to spot some deer wandering by. Hum Hideaway is only 15 minutes’ drive from Jeremy Clarkson’s famed Farmer’s Dog pub; his farm shop (half an hour) is also well worth a visit. Other popular local attractions include Blenheim Palace (15 minutes’ drive) and Adam Henson’s Cotswold Wildlife Park (25 minutes); both have an action-packed roster of events and activities for families. Oxford city centre (40 minutes) can be accessed via bus or car for a day out among its gleaming spires, historic colleges and splendid museums. If you’d rather stay local, Hum Hideaway is also close to Tar Farm Lakes (five minutes’ drive), a popular fishing spot and just the place for a quiet country walk. You can also explore the photogenic ruins of Minster Lovell Hall and Dovecote (15 minutes); pack a picnic (buy goodies in Witney) to eat on the banks of the River Windrush nearby. Upgraded in 2026, the on-site facilities include outdoor washing-up sinks and separate shower and toilet cubicles for men and women. Dogs are welcome on site, and there are lots of quiet country walks straight from the pitches for the stretching of paws and legs.

Liked Lovely views and good facilities for a pop up. Great location and good value.

Disliked The new toilet block needs a bit of tlc as panels missing inside and plaster exposed plus light in one of toilets so dim you couldn’t see. Water was actually a bit too hot in the shower and no temperature control but better than not being hot enough. The night time hum of the A40

Disliked The road traffic was audible the entire stay. Less obvious in the day but definitely constant through the night so pack some ear plugs.

Liked We absolutely loved Hum Hideaway. The campsite is peaceful, beautifully maintained and surrounded by stunning Oxfordshire countryside. The facilities are exceptional, with clean toilets and showers, constant hot water, heated facilities and excellent washing-up and recycling areas.

The location is perfect for exploring Witney, Oxford and the surrounding Cotswold villages, while still being wonderfully quiet and rural. We loved waking up to the wildlife, including rabbits, deer and red kites flying overhead.

The owners are friendly, welcoming and run an exceptionally well-kept site. We enjoyed Hum Hideaway so much that we extended our stay several times. It genuinely became our little home away from home.

We will 100% return. It's one of our favourite campsites and was absolutely perfect for us.

Disliked The only downside for us was the slope of the camping field. During a longer stay, the incline put quite a lot of pressure on our large tent and its structure.

This certainly wouldn't stop us returning, though. For a shorter stay it wouldn't have concerned us at all, and everything else about Hum Hideaway was fantastic. We would happily stay here again.

Liked Lovely spot, nice and quiet.

Disliked Ground is quite uneven you will need levelling shocks. Need a few hooks around the sink area in the toilet block itself.
Toilet block itself was okay though.
