Electric grass touring pitch
Liked: Lovely clean site with great amenities. Generous pitch size. Nice little cafe and great park area for the kids.
Disliked: There wasn’t easy access from the campsite to footpaths to take our dog for a walk as had to all walk down a main road.

Liked: Absolutely amazing campsite. The people were so nice and showed us around site which was quiet and perfect size for what we needed it for. Showers and toilets were clean and spacious. There’s a small shop and cafe/bar on site which do amazing food and drinks and the people are lovely. Also a good location, we was put near a road but was still quiet and was able to sleep fine at night. 100% recommend and will be returning very soon!! (:

Stable Barn shepherd's hut
Liked: Good location. Toilet blocks were good quality, didn't visit the showers. Min-kitchen space for people staying in pods was useful. Good Saturday night fish and chips
Disliked: Accomodation is small but better than in the photos (stayed in a shepherd's hut). bunk beds really too small for anyone over the age of approx 12. Site felt like you were on top of everyone else and not much activity space, no room to spread out

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked: Very friendly and welcoming campsite. Lots of family’s. Lots to do on the campsite. We will be coming again!
Disliked: Could do with some gravel down in the bottom field due to having to drive at full speed to the pitch to avoid getting stuck in the mud! However really liked being on the bottom pitch

Electric grass touring pitch
Liked: Having the pitch cancelled on us whilst on our way was nothing short of fantastic obviously. See disliked
Disliked: The owner cancelling the pitch on our way to the site and now refusing to refund. His behaviour and threats of criminal action for trespass if we did turn up. A family of 4 with a 20month old and 6 year old. Was supposed to text us with a pitch number on the Friday of bank holiday weekend. Didnt. We called en route and he said we couldn't turn up as had been agreed on the Friday. Others were now on the pitch we had booked so he would sort it out then. When we challenged this as it was counter to what he stated we could do on the Friday he cancelled on us. Then emailed an apology on the Monday with a credit note. The language and behaviour on the calls, texts and emails made us feel unsafe. Very. He said if he was going to get a bad review then so be it. We have tried all reasonable means of getting our money back and unfortunately this will now go through other channels as I cannot understand how he has been allowed to get away with his behaviour. Never in 40yrs of camping experienced anything like this

From the manager: Thank you for your review. As the terms and conditions state on our website and pitchups website, we don't do early check-ins. The main reason for this is we need the time to prepare for new arrivals. On the friday you were due to arrive (but didn't) we had torrential rain, this means our pitch allocations went out the window as we had customers getting stuck, so we had to put them on any pitch we could. This means that we couldnt accommodate the 40 minutes early arrival we had previously agreed with you. You were asked to wait the 40 minutes to the normal check in time where the warden would be available to take you to a pitch. You refused and demanded a refund for the friday which you didnt arrive. This was refused as it was your choice not to arrive on your scheduled day. If you had done we wouldn't of had these issues. If you read the terms and conditions on pitchups website it states we reserve the right to cancel a holiday with no refunds for customers who are deemed unreasonable or unsuitable. When you threatened us with a bad review for not allowing you to arrive 40 mins early and then proceeded to bombard us with texts and calls, we had to take decisive action. You were told that police would be called if you arrived on site as you told our warden you were going to come and sort this out anyway. He didnt feel safe due to your language, unreasonable attitude and demands.
