What customers say
This is a popular, family-friendly campsite with spacious pitches and a relaxed atmosphere. Visitors praise the friendly staff, clean facilities, and the added bonus of animals like goats and birds. The playground and bouncy castles are a hit with children. While the proximity to a train line is noted, most guests find it manageable. Some minor points for improvement include the need for more toilet facilities during peak times and occasional upkeep issues with older blocks, though new facilities are being developed. Overall, it's a well-regarded site offering good value.

Fantastic long weekend away campsite
16-amp electric grass pitch
Liked Genuinely a really nice place to stay. We stayed for a long weekend, some of our family were able to book in to camp for 1 night, which the manger helped us with, even able to let them set up their tents right next to ours!
Some of the previous reviews on here state that the campsite is not clean and the management are rude, we would disagree.
If you are after a clean 5* place then hotels are for you. Camping is always a bit dirty and rough, in my opinion camping is an experience and you build your kit to make it comfortable.
There is plenty to do for the kids with a bouncy castle, play park, goats to feed or fuss. A shop on site that sells basics that you may have forgotten, and food to give to the goats.
There's 2 toilet and shower blocks both basic but secure and kept well, with a washing up area just behind.
The campsite has a cafe style kitchen that serves breakfast bits, burgers, vegan burgers and pizza. All of it sounds very delicious. The campsite also has a pub style bar, we haven’t been inside as of yet, but all looks very inviting.
The owner is a very down to earth guy, we had an issue with a neighbour banging another caravan at 1am. We were awake anyway but we were worried about others being woken up. We phoned up and he was able to resolve this very quickly.
Yes, there's a train that runs by close to the main field of the site, which has been noted on the pitch up website. For us it wasn’t an issue. It’s all part of the fun. We are also both from big families so are used to all the noise. No complaints from us at all!
Take negative reviews with a pinch of salt. Everyone has their preference. We would definitely come again!

Disliked Onsite Bar was not open due to low visitors which was a shame, but nice pub called the Brasenose just down the road

Also I shall inform my electrician that a guest from Germany has condemned his work? I’m sure he’ll appreciate the feedback after 30 years of doing his job.

Bit of a disappointment
10-amp electric grass pitch
Liked Easy check in , good size pitches, close to lovely village and pubs
Disliked Very tired looking facilities. Not enough bins, overall despite potential the place felt neglected and tired. Needs investment and enthusiasm to return it to it's potential.

From the manager: Certainly not neglected or tired, we are constantly upgrading and have done since we opened a few years ago.
Maybe the look was due to your stay being during a thunder storm?

Liked I liked that is wasnt very busy but that meant the bar anc shop wasnt open. But if need the shop just ring number on door and they will open it up just for you which was lovely. lovely walk along the canal
Disliked Showers and toilets in difficult location.
Didn't like that was greeted but text message on where to go. (but thats just my preference and didnt affect my stay)
Railway line at bottom of campsite so some may find that disturbing but didnt bother me too much

From the manager: Showers and toilets a difficult location? That’s a new one.
