  • Well-maintained adults-only Cotswolds campsite in rural Oxfordshire
  • Half an hour’s drive to Warwick Castle; Stratford-upon-Avon 25 minutes
  • Secure site with landscaped pitches; pub and shop five minutes’ drive
If you’re something of a wildlife fan or indeed just fancy somewhere peaceful and adults-only to bed down in Cotswolds countryside, Crofts Barn, a 20-minute drive from the market town of Banbury, in Oxfordshire, may be the spot for you. Life on site is quiet enough for you to hear the birds singing and the crickets chirping – and on summer evenings, you may well hear badgers grunting in the fading light. Deer, muntjac, squirrels and rabbits often put in an appearance too. And that’s before you take the livestock into account: in neighbouring fields, you can often watch the antics of the horses and cheeky goats. Access to the pitches (which are neatly mowed areas on a ridge-and-furrow meadow) is through a digitally locked gate, so you can be sure of a high level of security. Solar lights illuminate the short walk to the toilet/shower block, so you don’t have to look for a torch in the middle of the night if you need the loo. There’s a village shop in Tysoe (five minutes’ drive), which should have pretty much everything you need on the foodie front – and there’s a pub if you fancy a crafty pint. Since guests are not permitted on site, you’ll want to meet family and friends in the local coffee shops and pubs in the area. Want to get out and about exploring the Cotswolds by car, on foot or by bike? Or are you content to sit and chill on site? At Crofts Barn, you have the chance to do either one – or a bit of both…

The View non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked This site is great - quiet, immaculately kept with clean facilities and very easy to follow check in instructions. Well looked after.
Stayed on a pitch in ‘The View’. We don’t think the photos on Pitchup do this site justice, it is so much better.

The View non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked We had a lovely night staying at Crofts Barn campsite. It is a beautiful small peaceful campsite with real attention to detail. The view is stunning and there are picnic tables to enjoy and a fire pit circle. The toilets were absolutely spotless and a real step up from most campsite facilities. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

Sunrising Hill electric hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked Well laid out site with generous sized pitches; water and EHU close to hand; we had both a hard standing EHU pitch, and a grass EHU pitch and found the daily electricity allowance more than enough; friendly and informative greeting on arrival with the owner; clean and modern washroom/toilet facilities, kept immaculately throughout our stay; peaceful location with walks possible direct from the site. Would definitely recommend to others.

Disliked No glass recycling or disposal on site. Highly unusual in my experience, and something that I've never encountered before in the UK or Europe. With 5 adults across 2 pitches for 6 nights that's a lot of glass to collect up and take home, each to their own but I can't abide beer in cans and have yet to find decent wine in anything other than glass bottles, and certainly not Champagne as we were celebrating birthday's! But we did after realizing our mistake initially, of placing in the communal bin bag, then again we were on holiday! However, only a minor gripe 10/10 with the exception of that.

Sunrising Hill electric hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked Beautiful site, so well kept and very secure. Lovely ornamental touches throughout the grounds and a great, signposted walk through the fields and into the woods. Very friendly and welcoming host who shared lots of information on where to walk and eat locally.

Disliked Nothing! It was all perfect.

Sunrising Hill electric hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked Beautiful location, peaceful and tranquil. The site is well designed and every detail has been considered. Spotlessly clean with good facilities. Easy to access and easy to tour Cotswold area from this base. Not close to Banbury in a very rural setting. Most pitches quite level and well laid out.
Owners very friendly and approachable. One of the best we have stayed at.
