Visitors highlight the exceptionally friendly and helpful wardens who contribute to a welcoming atmosphere. The site is noted for its peaceful ambiance, lovely views, and convenient location for canal walks into Retford. Pitches are generally well-maintained, though some mention they can be close together. Very unhelpful
Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Very unhelpful people, I couldn't drive as I had an injured foot and called giving plenty of notice to see if we could change our stay to another date but they wouldn't accommodate us, all they wanted was enough notice of us not coming so that they could rent this pitch out again, will never book again
Disliked The unhelpful staff

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Fantastic pitch right near the facilities. These were clean and tidy and the site the same - beautifully looked after. The site is extremely secure with barriers operated by fobs only. They have a dedicated field to walk the dog which overlooked the fields Fantastic hosts/staff who told us a bit about the local walks around and we took full advantage and wandered down the canal to the local pub The Boat Inn - great food. Best bit…the sunsets looking over the landscape. A site full of like-minded people. Thanks for a great stay!!

Nice site we will go back.
Electric optional grass tent pitch
Liked Very clean and friendly site. The camp wardens were very helpful and kept it spotless. Toilet and shower block was to a good standard with plenty of free hot water for the showers.
Disliked Glad they put us on the bottom field so there was plenty of room if we were on the advertised camping spot at the side of the toilet block it would have been a bit different reveiw as it was too small even for 3 small tents.

Fantastic 2 x day camping experience.
Electric optional grass tent pitch
Liked Enjoyed a fantastic 2 x day camping experience at Olive tree , quite a small camping area, enough for 2 x large tents but extremely quiet as we was the only campers that weekend. Electric hook up was £3.00 which lasted more than enough. Very friendly hosts who gave us lots of information on the surrounding areas and canal walks. The showers and toilets were spotless and cleaned regularly, lovely hot showers and plenty of hot water . Pot washing facilities were also adequate and close to the camping area and also cleaned regularly. Will definitely return.

Fab adults only site, peaceful
Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Fab wardens, so helpful, toilet block very good with set cleaning times and a hairdryer. Great “ library” on site, I swapped my book and a great selection available. It’s very quiet even though it was almost full, this was our 4th visit and will be back again
Disliked Electric meters but you do get used to them.

Excellent site, very clean facilities, very friendly staff.
Electric optional grass tent pitch
Liked Olive Tree is a lovely site just a 45 minute walk along the canal from Retford.
We have to say the toilet, shower and wash up facilities are some of the best we’ve seen in the UK! Very clean and modern.
Everybody is very friendly, especially the owner and site wardens. We never caught their names but the campsite wardens are very friendly and welcoming, and add to the overall security of the place!
Very small camping area- which is actually a bonus as it’s not overly crowded.
Disliked Quite close to the road and behind a car wash, so some residual noise can be heard. However, this is the price to pay for a centrally located site.
