Adventure play park
Adventure play park

  • Water- and land-based event centre in 270 acres of parkland
  • Easy access to Nottingham city centre, rail network and airport
  • Country walks, nature trails and lots to do for kids on site
What do you reckon is the main flavour of activities at this Nottinghamshire site? Yup, top of the menu at the Holme Pierrepont Country Park, near Nottingham, are all sorts of watersports: you'll be able to tackle a whitewater course for canoeing, kayaking, rafting and tubing; paddleboarding; and open-top canoeing. This is a land-based activity centre too, so if you don't fancy plunging into the foamy depths or would quite like to stay dry for a day, other options can be tackled at the outdoor adventure zone where there's an aerial adventure course, miniature golf, a kids' activity club and archery combat. A large play park, country walks and nature zones are also on site (please note some activities are subject to availability and must be booked at reception; early booking is advisable). Feeling a bit faint just from reading all this, and think you'd rather spectate? The centre has kindly included a country park café and a regatta lake where it hosts its own events like rowing and canoe regattas, dragonboat racing and triathlons. Lots are on offer too to keep the kids amused, including a woodland adventure playground and a nature trail, a short stroll away. Although all this energetic excellence is only 10 minutes' drive from Nottingham city centre, it's well into the countryside and away from anything townie, as it's deep in the 270 acres of parkland of Holme Pierrepont Country Park. The campsite part of the park covers 18 acres and has a facilities block with showers and toilets, and a site shop selling selected groceries and camping supplies.

What customers say

This is a large, well-located campsite with spacious, level pitches, ideal for families and groups. Visitors praised the proximity to the National Water Sports Centre and Nottingham. Facilities are generally considered adequate, though many reviews highlight a need for improved cleanliness and modernised toilet and shower blocks. Some guests experienced noise issues, particularly at weekends, and the on-site shop is described as basic. Despite some drawbacks, many would recommend and return to the site.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked The walk around the lake next to the site.

Disliked The woman on reception was rude.
There is no customer service at all.
The pitches are not clear & thank goodness we had no one directly next to us otherwise I’m not sure we’d have got out of our awning properly.
The toilets/showers were not cleaned from
the moment we got there to when we left.
This block was tired & old but could still have been cleaned.
Whilst in the loo I heard a male voice shout … male cleaner, checking the showers! For what????

Electric grass pitch

Liked Close to the toilets nice and clean site. Always has friendly people not too loud and lovely play area for the children

Disliked The shop onsite is extortionate £3.50 for a can of beer a single can. Where as the wine was priced at £11 per bottle which is reasonable. Showers are a bit hit and miss seem to have to hold the button and then you get shots of freezing cold water.

We stay here as it is so close to the National Watersports Centre.
