General

  • Set in 30 acres of beautiful Northamptonshire countryside
  • 12 lakes onsite, 2 devoted to watersports and the rest to fishing
  • Fully-licensed bar, a restaurant, toilets, showers and changing rooms

Grendon Lakes welcomes all types of campers including families, large or small clubs and organisations, same-sex groups and couples. We believe we have something to offer everyone and have enough space for you to feel comfortable and reap the benefits of camping in the great outdoors. Our rules are simple but effective and are designed to ensure everyone is kept safe, secure and happy.

Our campsite is split into three different areas and covers in excess of 30 acres of land some of which has beautiful lakeside views and large recreational spaces. The site has improved dramatically over the last few years and we continually aim to improve and develop our facilities for our campers.

Our main aim is to provide a beautiful part of Central Northamptonshire countryside for people who want to enjoy and experience camping in its simple terms. We do not offer frills and luxuries, our site is rural and made up of only grass pitches (which can be muddy during wet weather). We do have a toilet and shower block on site which is free to use but the rest is up to you.

On site we have fishing, wakeboarding, inflatable rides and paintballing to name a few activities.

Booked a rare night away fishing. Gerald lake was nearly stagnant, pegs overgrown only 3 fishable pegs on what we were told was the most popular lake. And £10 for a day ticket!

    Nice setting close to lakes.

    Disliked:

No staff were available when we arrived late afternoon, the gate to the clubhouse and the clubhouse itself including reception were locked. We had to ask another visitor where we should go. The washing/toilet facilities were basic but adequate. Bins were overflowing. A lot of noise due to the arrival of people setting up noisy paragliding engines on the camping field until dusk. We will not be returning!

Good site for back to basics camping 26/07/2016

Reviewer's country: United Kingdom Jane T. Confirmed

  • Four-man non-electric grass tent pitch

  • Liked:

Plenty of pitches to choose from, level ground. Lakes and clubhouse within walking distance. Nearby toilet blocks were clean and had plenty of loo rolls! Didn't use the shower as there was a long queue, also not too keen on the shower curtains. A good site with few restrictions or rules. We were able to use our bbq and play ball games which kept out younger children amused, there's nothing like wearing them out and then sitting around toasting marshmallows when the sun goes down to ensure a good night's sleep! Taps were easily accessed for fresh water.

    Disliked:

Could do with a few more bins, the rubbish soon mounts up when camping, and the stack situated near the toilet black looked a bit precarious.
