  • Family-run site on a working farm in Northamptonshire
  • Castles, stately homes and woodland walks all within a 20-minute drive
  • Farm shop and café selling local produce; 10 minutes' walk from a pub
Find fab nosh and forest walks on this family-run working farm site in Northamptonshire: New Lodge Farm Caravan and Camping Site is a peaceful and spacious spot in the Rockingham Forest, a once-vast wooded area that was William the Conqueror’s favourite hunting ground. Whatever you’re chasing, the mix of medieval castles, market towns and ancient woodlands teeming with wildlife makes for rich pickings… Surrounded by fields, with the skies visited by a large resident population of red kites, you’ll feel right out in nature here. Dogs are welcome as well, and there’s a one-acre walking area set aside, taking you and canine companions down to the duck ponds. The farm shop and café are bursting with local produce to relish or to pack as picnics on your rambles round the area. Barbecues are allowed and there’s a mighty good selection of farm-fresh lamb, beef and pork for you to buy at the shop. For more supplies, it’s a 10-minute walk into Bulwick, where there’s a village store selling basics and a cracking good pub with hot food. Preserving a strong sense of the past, the team at New Lodge Farm Caravan and Camping Site have converted the old Victorian milking parlour into a block containing bright and roomy washrooms with showers, a laundry and a washing-up area.

What customers say

New Lodge Farm is an adults-only site praised for its spacious, well-maintained pitches and immaculately clean facilities, including exceptional showers. The on-site cafe and farm shop receive consistent high marks. Staff are frequently described as friendly, helpful, and professional. While most guests enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, some note occasional road noise from the nearby A43. A few reviews mention issues with electric hook-up distance or wastewater drainage on specific pitches.

Liked Having been to this site numerous times, again our stay this time was amazing. Absolutely our go to site for a quick break. Friendly welcome on arrival and warden happy to assist.
Showers and facilities are spotless, restaurant & bar area really good too.
Tent pitches are huge and well marked out, water and electric easy to obtain. WiFi is brilliant too
Although we didn’t use it this time, the spa hot tub is a must!

Disliked Not a dislike at all but we had to borrow an electric extension as the electric was too far away - so depending on tent pitch you may need an extension.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Love the place been coming here for years.. this time we came with our daughter and her boyfriend was a shame we couldn’t be near each other as they was in a tent but we understand .. lovely clean toilets and amazing showers (rainfall) no push button..

Disliked The noise of the road we was in a motorhome and could hear a bit.. but the pitch we was on (12) had a problem with waste water draining away and the smell was bad ,the person that was on pitch 11 said he had the same Problem last time he stayed there on pitch 11, it went away very slowly but didn’t help the smell..

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Everything!! Our go to site for a quick break. Brought along our grown up kids this time and we all agree, a fabulous site. Well maintained, friendly staff. Always has a relaxed feel. The restaurant food is delicious and the shop very well stocked. Don’t be put off when people mention the road noise, it’s really not so bad.

Electric optional grass tent pitch (large)

Liked Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Pitch size, ease of electric and drinking water access.
warmth and cleanliness of shower facilites.
Outdoor eating facility.

Disliked Unfortunately and this was a deal breaker for revisiting this site in future the tent area is closed to the main road and the traffic noise was horrendous, although it was an Aroad, it was like sleeping outside next to a motorway, lots of HGV's trailers and noise all night long! in a caravan this may not be too obvious nut in a tent it was bad (We are not used to traffic noise at home)
Also the food from the farmshop (2 no. cheese and ham toasties and one fries) was not great for £26.
Strict dog policy and dog walk area full of sticky buds!

Local attractions

One of England’s smaller counties, Northamptonshire packs a lot in to a small area, and it’s particularly well supplied with historic dwellings. The richly decorated but roofless Kirby Hall, the half-finished Elizabethan manor surrounded by wildflower meadows at Lyvden New Bield and the sturdy grandeur of 900-year-old Rockingham Castle can all be explored within a 20-minute drive. If walks and wildlife are your thing, you’ll be similarly well sorted: make for Fermyn Wood Country Park (15 minutes) to see what the whole Rockingham Forest area must once have looked like, taking circular trails to spot badgers and fallow deer. A similar distance away, Bedford Purlieus National Nature Reserve buzzes with bird and insect life, among the remains of Roman and medieval quarries and smelting houses. A 20-minute drive away, the nature reserve at Rutland Water is paired with a massive outdoor leisure area for swimming, walking, sailing, fishing and windsurfing. If you’re more into petrol power, it’s 15 minutes to Rockingham Speedway for regular race meets, track experiences and vintage rallies. Heading further out (in every way), it's 50 minutes from the site to the National Space Centre in Leicester. While you're there, take in the King Richard III Visitor Centre and pay your respects to the last Plantagenet king, who now rests in the cathedral, and make time for a mooch round the 700-year-old market.
