  • Adults-only park with carp and coarse fishing lakes in pretty scenery
  • A 10-minute drive from Lincoln and 20 from the Lincolnshire Wolds
  • Dog-walking area on site; easy access to public transportation
Looking for a quiet and friendly adults-only site in Lincolnshire for a motorhome or campervan? Lovely – then you could soon be lolling about at Langdale Lakes, 10 minutes’ drive from Lincoln amid a lush and leafy landscape. As the name suggests, this park surrounds a few bodies of water for carp and coarse fishing in fab scenery (with a discount on pegs for guests). It’s an ace place for ambling too as there’s a designated dog walking area allowing off-leash explores for the couple of well-behaved canines visitors can bring with them on their hol. Loping around the lakes is also a fine way to spend some time here, as is venturing a touch further out for cycling and boat trips along local canals or visiting villages scattered around the Lincolnshire Wolds (20 minutes), like Market Rasen, Alford and Caistor. Prefer to mosey about without the motorhome? Buses stop outside the site and travel in two directions, including to Lincoln, the market towns of Louth and Horncastle, and the seaside at Skegness. On return, the site has ample amenities for completing chores, from dishwashing facilities within a well-lit and sheltered area to an Elsan emptying point and grey water waste disposal. The microwave is handy for heating up any leftovers you’ve brought home from lunch at one of Lincoln’s excellent eateries.

Electric optional gravel and hardstanding touring pitch (waterside)

Liked: Amazing site so relaxing and peaceful. Lovely fishing lakes if you like to fish. Lovely dog walk around the lakes. There is a pub just up the road in Langworth. Nice facilities and the Warden couldn’t do enough to help if needed. It is ideal for visiting Lincoln and there is a bus stop just outside the site

Electric optional gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Excellent site, woodland walks around the lakes and fully enclosed dog walking area, again in a woodland setting. Lots of benches placed through out the site (each with its own brush to clear away the leaves - a simple but appreciated touch) Dog Poo bins and a dog poo bin dispenser in case you forget to put one on your pocket. Toilets, showers and washing up area kept clean. The owners are lovely and friendly, and we will definitely return next year.

Disliked: nothing negative to say

Electric optional gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Absolutely everything, a little gem of a site, a lovely quiet campsite, the pitches are level, there's walks around the two lakes, a dog walking area, a picnic area. I especially liked the little handmade touches we spotted around the lakes, like hand painted pebbles, signs, brushes for the benches, little ornamental creatures, a fairy garden. There's a little shop that's sells handmade goods plus all the information you need for around the area. The toilets and showers and washing up are are lovely and clean. Jackie and John are very welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. This is a site that we'll be coming back to year after year

Disliked: Absolutely nothing

Local attractions

Lincoln’s a smashing spot for urban explores: it has a cathedral, castle, museums, art galleries and shops aplenty (10 minutes’ drive). The cobbled Steep Hill is worth a stroll – true to its moniker, it’s the fourth steepest street in England, so don’t be surprised if scaling it leaves you huffing and puffing. Other settlements to have a gander at include Market Rasen (20 minutes), which has a racecourse, and the Georgian town of Louth (half an hour) – a foodie’s fave – on the other side of the Lincolnshire Wolds. The whole area’s also a hotspot for folk fond of flying; aviation sites are scattered all around, including the Red Arrows’ home at RAF Scampton Heritage Centre (15 minutes). Petrolheads are pretty keen on Cadwell Park (half an hour), while golf courses are a pound a penny for those who want to perfect their swing. Seeking seaside times? The golden sands of the Lincolnshire coast, including the beaches around Skegness, are about an hour’s drive.
