What customers say
This tranquil campsite is set amongst beautiful fishing lakes, offering a peaceful retreat. Visitors praise the exceptionally friendly and helpful owners, John and Jackie, and the well-maintained, clean facilities. The site is conveniently located near a bus stop for easy access to Lincoln. While some mention the proximity of a railway line and road, most find the noise not to be an issue. A few guests noted that the toilet and shower facilities could be insufficient when the site is busy. The well-organised dog walking area is also a highlight.

Great place. Beautiful. Peaceful. 10/10
Electric optional gravel and hardstanding touring pitch (waterside)
Liked We have just stayed 5 nights here and are going home in the morning, what a sad goodbye it will be.
We have a great stay, what a beautiful and peaceful place.
The owners John and Jackie are soo friendly and welcoming, really nice people. Also very helpful, due to transporting issues we arrived later than expected which was no bother to the owners at all, we also had trouble with our leisure battery in our caravan, John came to rescue lending us his charger, which was greatly appreciated.
The site is so beautiful and greatly maintained.
We stayed on a waterside pitch and fished each day, the waterside pitches are great!! Such tranquility.
Fishing was great too, the fish were beautiful in great condition, our biggest being 20lbs!
There is a secure and private dog walking area which me and my pup loved.
There are some very beautiful little touches around the sight, for instance each bench or resting place has a brush left on it for you to sweep away any debris and leaves. Which is so thoughtful.
There’s an information shed full of leaflets with all you need in the area including takeaways and things to do. Also lots of beautiful homemade trinkets in there for you to purchase.

Rustic charm, beautiful lakes and lovely owners, we’ll return!
Electric optional gravel and hardstanding motorhome pitch (lake view)
Liked We really enjoyed our stay at Langdale Lakes. The site has a lovely rustic, charming feel and, a little quirky in places we felt this added to its character and atmosphere. Our pitch was great and the fishing pegs were very good. We didn’t catch this time, but others did and as my husband says it wouldn’t be fun if the fish hooked themselves.
John and Jackie, the owners, were absolutely lovely very friendly, welcoming and helpful, and clearly work incredibly hard on the site. Nothing was too much trouble.
There are three toilets, two with showers, plus recycling and washing-up facilities. The lakes are beautiful and make for a lovely walk, and there’s a nice walk to the local pub. Takeaway food can also be delivered to the gates.
Reception offers tea, coffee, ice creams, cold drinks and snacks, as well as fishing bait. Some fishing equipment is also available to loan if you’ve forgotten anything.
We loved the peaceful surroundings and the relaxed, rustic feel. We would definitely recommend Langdale Lakes and will return as its quirky charm is already pulling us back!
The pictures of the site do not do it justice.

Great site, friendly and quiet
Electric optional gravel and hardstanding touring pitch (waterside)
Liked Lovely quiet site
John the owner goes above and beyond
Pitches are lovely and tidy and the spots round the lake are beautiful
Position is good, bus stop right outside and little village a few miles away
We will definitely be back
Disliked Not so much a dislike but a point to note. There are 3 toilets and 2 of them are included in the same room as the shower so there are queues in a morning as the site was pretty full.
Not a big issue but to be noted

Not to be missed
Electric optional gravel and hardstanding touring pitch
Liked The relaxed atmosphere most of all.
We were made to feel very welcome.
Our caravan is an historic (1949) American with the door on the CORRECT side, just a pity all UK sites cater for caravan doors on the incorrect side. ONLY KIDDING !!!
We realise the door on the right hand side presents a potential problem but John and Jackie made sure we could get onto a pitch which ensured the safe distance for other guests.
Great, well laid out site, and spotless! even though it is part of the wild, wooded lake setting.
Very quiet.
Within 15 minutes of Lincoln.
Excellent!!
Disliked I didn't like leaving to go home.

Not just for fishing!
Electric optional gravel and hardstanding motorhome pitch (lake view)
Liked Lovely pitches, some with lake views, conveniently located for buses into Lincoln, Louth, Horncastle and the coast. A short cycle ride along the pavement running alongside the main road takes you to Scothern Lane which joins the NCN route 1. From there you can ride towards Lincoln or Market Rasen. The owners John and Jackie are excellent hosts and made our stay even more enjoyable. You can fish but you don't need to; an evening stroll around the 2 lakes is still enjoyable. Well recommended!
Disliked Nothing to dislike.

Liked Lovely site. Not crowded. Small lakes for a stroll and a woodland area to let your dog off lead. Good clean facilities. All motor home services. Bus stop to Lincoln very close by.

Electric optional gravel and hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Friendly owners. Well organised. Pay for own electricity usage which avoids wastage and they refund unused. Very pretty natural lakes. Lots of personal touches around the site. Very good information hut with lots of extras like charity crafts for sale. Also useful reception area shop and ice cream. Very quiet and peaceful which is encouraged. Secure entrance. Easy for bus stop to Lincoln etc. Overall some of the pitches are quite small and over look one another , however certain lakeside ones are absolutely idyllic.
