Bain View Glamping: Colonial Bell tent with private facilities

General

  • Eco-friendly glamping on a large field with pond and canal frontage
  • North of the village of Haltham; five minutes' drive from Horncastle
  • Dog-friendly site with private toilets, showers and cooking facilities

Bain View Glamping is a peaceful Lincolnshire glamping site just north of the small village of Haltham. Guests staying in this stately six-metre bell tent have access to a peaceful five-acre pasture with gorgeous views over the countryside and easy access to miles of waterside walks along the Bain Canal.

Inside, each of the stylish accommodation units is comfortably kitted out with proper beds for up to four, soft furnishings, bed linen, towels and lights. There's also a private firepit just outside where you can settle down as dusk creeps in, as well as an exclusive use well-maintained eco toilet, shower and cooking area for meal prep in the open air. This off-grid site has a green approach to glamping and is partly powered by renewable energy sources, but that doesn't mean you’ll have to miss out on comforts like warm water or charging stations. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Bain View Glamping is a mere five-minute drive from the historic market town of Horncastle, a handy hub on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where there are several great cafés, pubs and shops. And if you're inspired by the classy decoration on show back at base, it's also good to know that this area is famed for its antiques and collectables

We had a brilliant stay at Bain View. Lexi was there as agreed to meet and greet us and show us around, taking time to explain everything and keeping in contact for anything we might have needed. We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed the quiet seclusion of the campsite to ourselves. Nearby Horncastle was a nice place for a day visit with plenty of grocery and antique shops with eateries 10 minutes away (recommend montibello Italian!) Skegness only 40 minutes away. The site itself is lovely and clean and we saw all kinds of wildlife including a kestrel that came to sit with us. Highly recommend a stay here and we will look to return whenever we're next looking at a trip to this area. Thanks.

Peaceful, relaxed glamping away from it all. Beds were very comfy and we add all slept well. Fire pit was perfect for a BBQ and toasting marshmallows. Highlight of the stay was seeing a kingfisher flying over the pond! 10/10 would stay again!

Had an absolutely amazing time at Bain View! We visited for a relaxing weekend (kid free) and that's exactly what we got!
Lexi greeted us on arrival and showed us around which was a lovely touch. She was super friendly and welcoming and provided us with lots of suggestions for local walks, restaurants and takeaways. The tent is beautifully decorated and the site itself is even more beautiful than the photos show!
We were a bit apprehensive about the eco toilet before we arrived as we haven't used one before. But we needn't have given it a thought....it was super easy to use and the lovely spray provided meant that it stayed clean and smell free. The shower is lovely and warm and the toiletries, washing up liquid and hand-wash were all eco friendly too.
The kitchen was well stocked and there wasn't any equipment we needed that wasn't provided. Following a gorgeous sunset, the solar lighting around the pitch came to life and was truly stunning. We had a lovely evening stargazing!
We loved it here that much that we've already booked to visit again in July for our sons 10th birthday!

Amazing place. The owners were so helpful in providing advice, even providing places to park when visiting the coast and great places to walk the dog.
It’s a place where you can see the owners have a passion for the environment but there is no compromise on camping experience.

Such a lovely set up with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break. The owners Lexi and Charles have created a fantastic experience, even sending regular texts with local recommendations we would definitely recommend Montebellos Italian, their pizza's were a massive hit with my teenage boys. Unfortunately we had awful weather whilst we were there so didn't get to spend as much time outdoors as I would have liked, however inside the bell tent was roomy and cosy with the log burner going. I would definitely recommend Bain view if you want some family time away from life's distractions, I will be booking again just hoping for better weather 😊.

Thank you Lexi and Charles for your hospitality and the loan of your beautiful piece of Lincolnshire for a few days.

Everything was so clean and beautifully presented on arrival with lots of thoughtful and homely touches, such as fresh flowers in the kitchen area and potted plants in front of the tent.

We were extremely thankful for the dry weather for the best part of our stay but it would have been even better if the temperature had been a bit kinder to us and the wind!
That said, this didn't stop us from enjoying the great outdoors and eating our breakfast al fresco when the sun crept round to warm the dining area. We had a few morning wildlife friends, Mr Swan who 'wowed' us with his take offs and landings and Wiggy and Waggy the Wagtails who were always flitting about. We also adored all the beautiful vast sunsets looking out over the pond. On our first evening we were very privileged enough to watch a Heron swoop in to land!

In terms of comfort, the tent surpassed our expectations! Beautifully and thoughtfully decorated but practical and comfy too. Comfortable and cosy beds with plenty of extra blankets and the log burner to keep warm. Charging points for phones very cleverly placed in a convenient spot. Instant hot water to shower and wash pots. The Eco toilet was carefully explained and we quickly got used to the different routine. The essential oil spray kept everything smelling fresh.

Lexi and Charles have done an amazing job with the land so far and we could see how they plan to develop and improve it with so many newly planted hedges and trees.

We have really enjoyed our stay at Bain View, being at one with nature but still having a comfortable bed to climb into - Perfect!

Thank you again, we will tell our friends and family about our stay and we hope to come back again in the future 🙂

The scene was absolutely beautiful, far away from the road that the occasional passing cars were not a disturbance. The privacy and quiet atmosphere created was by far my most liked aspect. At night sitting by the campfire on wooden logs hearing nothing but the occasional sheep at a distance while telling stories, roasting meat, and having the opportunity to completely switch off from the busy city life. This was only topped by the cozy feel inside the tent, with multiple blankets provided and a side wood-burning heater to keep us warm during game times.
Having the entire land to ourselves was a great plus, easy to use the kitchen with everything you'll need to prepare meals, all you'll need is the ingredients.

The entire place was very clean and tidy upon arrival, we arrived a little later than expected due to traffic but the host patiently waited to greet us, show us around, and make sure all our questions were answered regarding the use of the facilities. Very friendly and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a trip into nature, yet still have access to a hot shower, full functioning kitchen, bathroom, and comfortable living space.

Glamping like no other I've been to. Thank you for an amazing time

The beautiful interior of the tent, the comfy bed, all the extra blankets to ensure we were cosy. The kitchen was really well-stocked - they even had skewers for toasting marshmallows! Literally everything had been considered - it was a lovely ,luxurious stay.
