Bain View Glamping: Private deck and facilities

General

  • Spacious six-metre bell tent with sole use of a five-acre field
  • North of the village of Haltham; five minutes' drive from Horncastle
  • Dog-friendly site with private toilets, showers and cooking facilities

Bain View Glamping is a peaceful Lincolnshire glamping site just north of the small village of Haltham. Guests staying in this stately six-metre bell tent have the full run of a five-acre pasture with gorgeous views over the countryside and easy access to miles of waterside walks along the Bain Canal.

Inside, the stylish accommodation is comfortably kitted out with proper beds for up to four, soft furnishings, bed linen, towels and lights. There's also a firepit just outside where you can settle down as dusk creeps in, as well as a well-maintained eco toilet, a shower and a cooking area for meal prep in the open air. This off-grid site has a green approach to glamping and is partly powered by renewable energy sources, but that doesn't mean you’ll have to miss out on comforts like warm water or charging stations. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Bain View Glamping is a mere five-minute drive from the historic market town of Horncastle, a handy hub on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where there are several great cafés, pubs and shops. And if you're inspired by the classy decoration on show back at base, it's also good to know that this area is famed for its antiques and collectables

Beautiful setting with great hosts, the bell tent was done to a really good standard and the bed was super comfortable! There was plenty of blankets incase it got a little cold in the night.

The setting was really peaceful and it was so great having the whole place to yourself, you could really relax and enjoy your stay without worrying about others!

We was even able to have our friends pitch their own tent on the site for a little fee to make it extra special for us.
You are surrounded by rolling farming hills and there are sheep right across from the tent!

The toilet and shower were clean, easy to use, going back to basics but with a luxury twist. The dinning area and cooking stove where really great, especially with having friends there. It was even shaded which was very much needed as it was very 27 degrees during our stay!

The site is just far enough away from the busy town but not to far it's a pain if you need to get any supplies.
Wolds wildlife park is just 7 minutes away and woodall spa is a lovely little place to visit!

The site is on a busy road which can be a little loud at times, however the hosts have planted 3000 trees to help cover the noise in time to come.

There is a really nice pizza take away in woodall spa called Pizza Latina, they do not show up on just eat but they delivered out to us after asking them! Perfect if it is raining out and you can't cook!

    We would definitely visit again!

    Disliked:

There could be some games inside the tent for the guests to use as it rained the second night and we ended up spending a lot of time in the tent.

There is only enough fire wood supplied for one BBQ and you have to purchase your own which is a bit of a pain as we only wanted a small amount extra to toast some marshmallows on our second day.

Some milk sachets in the cool box/along with the sugar, tea and coffee would of been great.

Wow what can I say this was our first experience of glamping and thoroughly enjoyed every minute - facilities were exceptional even the eco loo which definitely took a bit of getting used to - area is great with many local areas to visit for sightseeing, walking and even just to relax and take in the lovely views , being the only people there was a bonus - we would highly recommend this to anyone that is looking for a glamping experience - we have already booked our next visit in sept - thank u Charles and Lexi for creating an idyllic place to relax and unwind

This place is absolutly amazing. I travelled alone with my 3 year old grandsons and Pomeranian.
On arrival my grandson said 'Wow, I like it here.
The Teepee is set in its own grounds overlooking a pond, giving you exclusivity and privacy, been by ourselves was just what we needed, time out from the world.
The Teepee is furnished to a high standard, with antique furniture, drawers, a king-size very comfortable bed, rocking chair, rugs, even charging points in the bedside tables. In the evening the fairy lights lit up giving the teepee a delightful atmosphere.
We enjoyed cooking on the tripod bbq, listening to music and dancing around on the grass in the sun, my grandson also enjoyed playing on the decking and with his toys in the tent. We walked around the pond spotting dragon flys and he loved the shower as he didn't need to shut the door so it was like an outside shower, all toiletries included too.
We had the biggest thunderstorms while we were there and it was magical sat watching the rain and lightening from the tent next to the log burner, it rained so heavy we couldn't hear ourselves speak.
Charles and Lexi have cut a maze in the field to the side, my grandson loved playing in here trying to find his way back out, we even did it at night with the lamp looking for rabbits.
Charles and Lexi have made a little oasis here with attention to detail that is paramount, but when I read about their background employment it all made sense.
For me, been on our own not having to share the space with anyone was really important, we played our music as loud as we wanted (not that loud), we danced around the campfire singing songs, shouted to the sheep across the fields and we didn't bother anyone. We were also able to sit quietly saying nothing and just listen to the wildlife.
I think if other people were there it wouldn't have been half the experience we had.
Thank you Charles and Lexi we have made memories for a lifetime here.

    Disliked:

The road noise, but as they have only just opened once the 3000 trees that have been planted around the boundaries then this will be eradicated. Also as we had torrential rain I was unable to use the kitchen as its all outside, but I did light the wood burner n the tent for cuppa.
Nothing would stop me from booking again though, it was perfect.

From the manager...

Wow, Joanne, we are truly blown away by your detailed review and for sharing your memories with us. We are over the moon that the storms didn’t flatten you completely and that you had a unique experience because of that. It sounds like a great adventure and really one to get us (as owners) thinking on the privacy and solitude aspect of Bain View and how much that can mean to some people. Thanks again for these heart felt comments. Lexi x

Well what an amazing and truly unique experience.
More than just glamping this is a chance to absolutely get away from it all. It did not disappoint.
The setting is beautiful and the owners have clearly worked wonders to bring this to life.
We loved the solitary space, the tent is done to a really high spec and is so cosy. The solar shower is perfect and I even liked the compost loo despite some initial reservations!
Inbetween 2 beautiful villages both horncastle and woodhall spa. Lots of choice in terms of pubs, restaurants and take outs. So many walks but we only did one because the location was so beautiful! A little lake is positioned right in front of the tent and the little stream within the grounds is also stunning.
An experience that has been really thought out, we loved every minute and the dog has had the best holiday ever in the great outdoors.
Thank you Charles and Lexi we will definitely be back and will highly recommend to family/friends.

We stayed at Bain View for 2 nights. It was our 1st time Glamping and we were not sure what to expect. We had the most amazing weekend, even though the weather wasn't great, it didn't ruin anything. The facilities are fantastic and the tent is so spacious and beautifully furnished. Our 5 and 8 year old children had the most amazing time and didn't want to leave......none of us did! We would definitely book to stay again.

The tent was beautifully furnished throughout and the views over the pond at night were breathtaking. We loved the eco aspect of it too and hope others will follow suit. In all we could not have wished for a better break away from it all. Will definitely return again. Well done Lexi and Charles 😊

Liked everything! Nothing any of us could fault.
Camping with a young family and a dog felt like it could be overwhelming. However, staying here really is an experience of glamping. Amazing facilities - kitchen fully stocked (even with salt and pepper), facilities are fabulous (with shampoo, conditioner, hand wash, body wash and moisturiser) and beds with fabulous bedding. It was like staying in a hotel, with the added benefit of being in a beautiful and peaceful location with a firepit for outside and a log burner inside. Everyone was catered for, even the dog. Hosts were brilliant, helpful and accommodating.
We enjoyed it so much, we have booked to return in a few months and cannot wait.
Thank you for an amazing stay!
