What customers say

This is a highly recommended, immaculately clean and well-maintained site with friendly and helpful owners. Visitors praise the spacious, fully serviced pitches, excellent modern facilities including showers and toilets, and the beautiful, peaceful surroundings with five fishing lakes. Its convenient location offers a short walk to Spilsby's amenities and good transport links. Most reviewers found nothing to dislike, though a few mentioned goose droppings and midges.

Fully-serviced gravel motorhome pitch

Liked Small well kept site with spotless facilities and lovely views over the fishing lakes. The town of Spilsby is well within walking distance for 2 supermarkets, 3 pubs, and a good selection of takeaways. I personally recommend the fish and chips and the Nelson Butt pub which offers great atmosphere and drinks and fantastic food (be prepared to book for Sunday lunch) at reasonable prices. Don't be put off by the metered electric. Over 4 nights, we in a motorhome used a little over 29 kwh of which 16 is inclusive of the pitch cost. At the end of our stay we paid an extra £3 for the electric. This was in October and we had the heating on overnight.

Disliked Not much to dislike at all. Minor issue with the position of the smoke alarm in the facilities which is just a little too close to the shower cubicles and got triggered by the steam.

Fully-serviced gravel motorhome pitch

Liked We really enjoyed our stay at Woodlands Fishery. The site is really well maintained, well laid out and very peaceful. All credit to the friendly owners, keep up the good work ! All pitches have electric, water and drainage on hardstanding, mainly level but we did need the addition of our wheel blocks. The site is a short walk into the town which has several pubs, cafes, weekly market etc. etc. We went by a regular bus service from the town to Skegness and Horncastle. We also caught an evening bus and visited The Red Lion Inn at Raithby which we can recommend. My partner enjoyed several fishing opportunities during our 6 night stay, with the lakes being only a short walk from our pitch. Can highly recommend Woodlands Fishery.

Disliked Just a note to future winter visitors, do take a torch with you for evenings, although there is lighting on site there are areas where a torch is needed.

Fully-serviced gravel motorhome pitch

Liked Liked every thing,: Nicely design pitches area, beautiful natural mature landscape around the 5 lakes with wildlife, peaceful & ECO friendly site : ECO washing up liquid, recycling waste bins & a CDP are provided. The owners are pleasantly friendly & very helpful. We received a very warm welcome on arrival. There is also a shop on site. New & spotlessly cleaned washing-up area & showers / toilets. With attention to detail : a hairdryer is also provided ! Spacious shower cubicles fitted with seat, several coat hooks, large shower head with a tap to regulate the hot water to your desired temperature & the automatic length of run-time for the hot water is suitable for a good wash! Great view over the lakes from our pitch. 5 lakes to choose from, great coarse fishing opportunities. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. Will definitely come again !

Local attractions

Drive north for a few minutes and you’ll reach the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape, a lovely area for walks among low hills. If you’re more of a stroller than a hiker, maybe you’d prefer a wander around one of the local heritage attractions – with a drive of 10 minutes you can get to either the ruins of 13th-century Bolingbroke Castle (birthplace of Henry IV) or the grander Gunby Estate, Hall and Gardens, with walled gardens, elaborate interiors and a rather nice tea room. For a different kind of history, head to Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre (10 minutes’ drive), which has exhibits about World War II Bomber Command including a Lancaster bomber. Fancy some sea air? It’s a 20-minute drive to Skegness for a walk along the beach, a go on the rides at the amusement park and a visit to Natureland Seal Sanctuary. A little way south of the town, Gibraltar Point (25 minutes’ drive) is a popular location for birdwatchers; you might also spot seals here sometimes.
