Liked Really nice and quiet. Was only us and one other on a Thursday night. Lovely clean facilities really close by. More of a 'private camping' feel to it with it being small and cosy. Responsive hosts too

Disliked Nothing! Bit bumpy roads but nothing overall to complain about!

Liked Absolutely lovely little campsite..we had the most relaxing time! I saw so many birds, moths, dragonflies and Damsel flies. I even saw a beautiful little field mouse collecting blackberries!!! What a magical little spot! We didn't eat at the pub but the food looked beautiful! We did have a lovely pint though...delicious! The pub itself its beautifully maintained and clean and tidy. The staff were all very friendly. Thankyou for a lovely stay! We will certainly be back.

Liked Nothing, the owner clearly doesn't care about offering a good service or caring about her customers.

Disliked The showers were dangerous, one was completely out of action and the other leaked through the door.
The floors had collapsed in both rooms and were propped up with plastic shower drying stands.
The bins were overflowing, really overflowing, with no option to put rubbish elsewhere, this is not an isolated incident, there must be a month's worth of rubbish and as you can imagine in the heat, flies were a major issue.
We never saw the owner once, she couldn't be bothered to pop over and check everything was ok, the fence has collapsed, it just looks a mess, again I have since read this is an ongoing issue, this is your business, sort it or pre warn customers.
The biggest issue is the owners dogs, 3 barking, not very friendly dogs, she would let them be outside at all hours, so when we arrived, they were barking constantly, when we used the toilet they barked and when we went to the toilet before bed at 10pm, they started, the owner never appeared once to stop them, their barking continued until 11pm, it was terrible. We were with our dog that doesn't make a noise, however if he was a barker, I am sure I would have been told off.
The pitches are spacious, however some have big dips like pitch 14, and we couldn't be on the left side of the field due to the major fly issue from the bins.
We stayed just 1 night then left, the owner never offered a refund, however she cancelled our booking after we left.
I am expecting backlash, but my review above is genuine l, will happily leave a great review when we get good service, but taking £150 for 5 nights on a substandard campsite is not acceptable and I will make sure people know to avoid here.
We moved to a site in Wainfleet, it was cheaper, better facilities and no barking dogs.

Liked Nice sheltered site, protected from the wind. Food at the pub very good but remember to book. Nice washing up area with hot water.

Disliked Toilets/showers possibly under construction as only 1 working. We did Fri to Sunday but bins already overflowing. The further you go onto the site the more uneven the ground is.

Liked The location was very peaceful, size of the pitches was very good compared to other campsites and having the onsite pub was the main reason for choosing a remote location as there were a few of us staying. The food was lovely at the pub too

Disliked The 1st thing we noticed when we drove into the car park was that there were broken fences and a gate on either side of the field. It looked a bit uncared for unlike the photos shown on the website and the large bins were all open & overflowing. They did smell as you walked past to the shower block. The main thing is that the facilities could really do with some updating and maintenance. However, they were clean. Not sure how it would be if the site was at full capacity as one of the showers was not in use and the other shower door didn't close properly so water did leak out onto the floor. The flooring has gone rotten underneath though so the right hand shower room and in particularthe washing area have rotted under the lino making it feel a bit unsafe to walk on. Just needs some TLC over all really.

From the manager: Thank you for your review . Great that you loved the food .The shower block is going under repair with concrete floors being put down 1 has already been done the other is booked in to be repaired in the next few weeks oh and the washing up space all in hand Only one shower because a guest pulled it off the wall the weekend before you stayed so very unfunny. When you stayed the site was at full capacity because I do not let all the pitches out or over book. The fences well did that really affect your stay I have already repaired quite a few that were damaged in storms and the ones you are referring to really do not affect anyone the only reason they are there is to stop idiots just driving across the site from the car park. again they have been booked in for repair. The bins which should have been emptied on the Wednesday before you stayed I have had the biggest row with the so called refuse company name and shame BIFFA I pay nearly £200 per month This is my home how in gods name do you not think I do not give this place TLC I have spent every penny I have to keep this mine. I just wish people like you would think about your comments before finding out the facts

Liked The location

Disliked That there was non-one on the site who came to see of everything was OK for the whole weekend and the bins hadn't been emptied for sometime and they did smell pretty bad. Only one of the showers was in use and the hot water stopped working on Sunday morning but as the pub was closed there was no-one to speak to about it

Local attractions

If seeking a taste of traditional seaside stuff, set course for Skegness for sands and dunes, fairground rides and pier promenades, and endearing encounters with the residents of Natureland Seal Sanctuary. For meetings of the furred and feathered kind, it’s 15 minutes to the Lincolnshire Wildlife Park, home to tigers, tapirs, lemurs and hundreds of species of rescued parrots. If you prefer your wildlife in the wild, make the half-hour journey to Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve, a prairie-like vastness of dunes and wetlands where you can spot terns and skylarks while walking the trails. For longer hikes and bike rides, Horncastle (25 minutes) is a hub for two major routes: the Viking Way links the Humber Estuary with Rutland Water over 147 miles of grand terrain, while the 80 miles of the Lindsey Trail focus on the chalk hills, woodlands and ancient history of the Lincolnshire Wolds. Wartime history lies thick on the ground in these parts too, thanks to the role played by Lincolnshire’s people and airfields in the Battle of Britain: learn more at the Aviation Heritage Centre in East Kirkby, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre and the International Bomber Command Centre (20 minutes, half an hour and an hour away). Whether birdwatching or battlements are your bag, Tattershall Castle (half an hour) is worth a turn around, with 15th-century show-off interiors, woodlands full of wildlife and lakes nearby for wakeboarding and watery assault courses.
