General

  • Luxury family-friendly bell tent just outside the Lincolnshire Wolds
  • A 15-minute drive from Gunby Estate and 25 minutes from Skegness
  • Outdoor bathtub and picnic space under a tree chandelier

At Narnia, you’ll be stepping headfirst into a woodland escape just outside the Lincolnshire Wolds. This remote-feeling place is quite the hidey-hole, as you’ll have the bell tent and woodland space to yourself, so you can unwind away and get down to some real quality time. Surrounded by a quiet, five-acre Georgian estate that’s been in the countryside for 200 years, this is quite a royal-feeling stay.

The entrance is through a door dubbed the entrance to Narnia, complete with a lamp post for the full fantasy. Around the site, there are fairy lights, so it’s an ambient place to unwind, perhaps while looking up to the sky from your private hot shower, having a soak in the outdoor bathtub or having a picnic under the tree chandelier. The interior’s cosy too and on the luxury side, thanks to an antique French bed and chandelier.

Of course, treats and things to eat may quickly be on your mind, and that’s no problem here, as Horncastle (10 minutes’ drive) is a local market town with a vibrant pub, village café, farm shops and supermarkets.

The energy might come in handy for the Lincolnshire Wolds’ walking and cycling trails. The edge of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is just over 300 metres away from the site, so you’ll be able to get there in no time (five minutes’ walk to be exact). There's often wildlife to be seen right on site too: while you relax you may spot wild rabbits, muntjac deer and pheasants, plus all sorts of birds flying overhead.

Loved the tent and the eating area all lit up beautiful in the evening the shower was also very good and ash the host couldn’t have been nicer

    Disliked:

Not really a designated spot to prepare food although the seating area was adequate the outdoor bath was a great idea but in reality the water just wasn’t hot enough to be able to really enjoy although the shower was lovely, also not being able to have a fire wasn’t ideal we did miss it in the evenings

From the manager...

Thank you Joeleen for your kind feedback. Yes, it would be lovely to have a fire, however due to the fact it is all surrounded by trees, open fire has been restricted for our guest's own safety. But soon we are adding a kitchen facility and separate designated area for fire:).

A magical feel in a beautiful location08/09/2021

This was a truly magical experience!
The grounds where the tent is pitched are set up with 4 choices of seating area and outside lighting creates a beautiful atmosphere in the evenings. It is rural and we were lulled to sleep by an owl and woken up by the morning birdsong
The tent itself is comfy and lots of lovely touches like a personalised welcome letter, biscuits, and some games provided. Useful touches are the shoe box and a coat stand which was also great for drying towels
The outside shower and bath were also a novelty, and you do have your own private sink/toilet.
The location is beautiful and there is plenty to do with the coast an easy drive away, market towns, a nature reserve 5 minute walk away and cycling trails and bike hire locally.

    Disliked:

Not a problem for us, but just be aware that it is the only pitch on the site.
Also be aware that because the bath is outside, and the area is wooded, you may need to clean bird muck away before use.

From the manager...

Thank you for such your wonderful review. We are really glad to hear that your stay was magical here.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Narnia as the location kept to its theme with wonderful setting that was peaceful and quite.
The owners made us feel very welcome and made sure we were attended to. The tent was equipped as described and was warm and cosy.

    Disliked:

No washing up facilities if cooking on site but this is a minor issue.

From the manager...

Thank you so much for your wonderful review and really happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We are also adding a kitchen facility soon:), which will updated for early next year. Really appreciate your kind feedback.

Absolutely fantastic set up. The tent itself was beautifully equipped …08/09/2021

Absolutely fantastic set up. The tent itself was beautifully equipped with everything you need for a stay that combines the outdoors with some home comforts.

I was a little apprehensive about the bathroom setup beforehand but there was no need it was perfect. Hot water shower & private bathroom.

The attention to detail is great & the tree chandelier above the table was a nice feature. The best bit was the privacy. Usually at a campsite you have other tents metres away but this space is private and super chilled as there is just the one tent. Set in the grounds of a georgian house it was beautiful.

We didn't have the best weather but the tent was warm & dry and the facilities were great. Can't recommend enough.

    Disliked:

    Nothing!
