Liked The staff wear friendly.

Disliked The toilets were disgusting along with the pool and not enough facilities, especially on a busy weekend. Rules are in place but they were not adhered to.

Liked We liked everything, there was plenty to keep the children entertained as well as the adults. Swimming pool fantastic, entertainment fantastic, Mark the manager was very friendly and went above and beyond to help us when needed. All staff were friendly and helpful. When we arrived we were given the option of where we would like to pitch up near to the park and other facilities and entertainment or further away.

Liked Nice small friendly camp site. Shame the power supply couldn’t power a domestic kettle but worked around cooking dinner on one ring.
Great to have the pool and playground for the kids and everyone very respectful.

Disliked Toilets not cleaned enough and remembering 20p for the showers.

Liked Staff are all very friendly. Food at the pub is a reasonable price and very nice 👌🏼 Pitches are a good size. Showers are a good pressure and spacious. Site was generally clean.

Disliked Playground needs a baby swing. Mens toilets definitely need a refurb, cleaners try their best but it’s very tired and grimy, one of the taps doesn’t work and neither does the hand dryer.

Electric grass pitch

Liked The swimming pool, park and bar area were fantastic and all staff were welcoming and lovely. Our daughter made friends and loved her days and evenings here. The pitches were brilliant and we loved the get on and do attitude with little rules and since covid was like a breath of fresh air as most sites have gone the other way. Your pool and park area was a real highlight for our daughter.

Disliked Unfortunately what lets the site down is that the no loud music or noise after 10pm or 11pm were not adhered to meaning the whole campsite was affected by a few and could do nothing but wait for it to end. Last night is was 1am the night before midnight and the one before that midnight also. To think that we have stayed on many campsites but none with the noisy campers this site has. The lack of respect by a few meant this holiday was ruined for us which is sad because we loved everything else. The tents are thin and I can make allowances for children, animals and babies but not for the noise we have experienced. We cannot wait to return home for a restful nights sleep. I understand you tell everyone what's expected at check in with the rule sheet you give out but clearly no one cares about that. Out first nights stay was fantastic and so sad it didn't continue like that. I do not know what you can do but we all pay the same to stay here so why should a few spoil it for the majority. After our first night we were going to enquire about staying a little longer but after the past few nights we would not waste our money. I really wanted to complain after every night but my husband said it won't be as bad the next night so I didn't but I wish we had left after the first really noisy night instead of grinning and bearing it. Maybe you think this post is someone who doesn't want to have fun but when our music can't be heard because of someone else's somethings not right. We have always camped with respect to others knowing that tents are open to the elements and noise. I was scared to approach the campers as I did not know how they would take being asked to reduce the noise. I didn't want silence just a little bit of thought for those trying to sleep or those that had young children. Honestly such a shame because my review for our first night was glowing. The language and arguing experienced last night was disgusting from one set of campers and to boot their was more than one group of disrespectful idiots.

Route directions

If you are following a satnav, it may well take you down Low Road; ignore this and carry on along Marsh Road, where you will see the Rose and Crown pub (bright yellow) on your right. Check in here, then drive for another 30 yards to reach the site entrance, again on the right. Please don't drive down Low Road as this is only a small lane which tourers and motorhomes find it hard to come down.

Local attractions

You'll find a fair bit to do within a reasonable drive of the Rose and Crown, like Wisbech and its Elgoods Brewery, gardens and maze 20 minutes away, and royal days out at Sandringham within 35. Both Hunstanton and Skegness are within about 45 minutes' drive. Closer to home are two golf courses and Spalding's Springfields Outlet Shopping & Festival Gardens, which also has a tourist point detailing local attractions. Spend a day around the Wash too for birdwatching at Frieston, Gibraltar Point and RSPB Snettingsham and a look at the RAF bombing range where visitors are welcome to watch the aircraft. Historians have the National Trust's Peckover House or the Octavia Hill Birth Place Museum, both in Wisbech, to wander around, and if you have kids along on your hol, they'll probably fancy wanders around Fun Farm, Alley Katz Bowling or the Butterfly Wildlife Park.
