What customers say

This is a very family-friendly campsite with excellent facilities, particularly the heated swimming pool and play areas, which are a big hit with children. Staff are frequently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. While many visitors find the site offers great value and a welcoming atmosphere, some mention that facilities could benefit from updates and occasional cleanliness issues. Noise from other campers and the pub can be an issue for some.

Liked Spacious pitches, didn't use the amenities. Food service is good, order at table and it is bought to you. Prices reasonable. Lots and lots of families and children. Pool and kids playground looked good for kids.

Liked We liked the pub best. A good choice of food from which I had a smashing ploughman's lunch. Loved the disco music at night.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Good location, playground although it is very tired.

Disliked Very noisy campsite with lots of drunk people staggering around in the night. Also people setting up camp at 2 in the morning while drunk. Didn’t sleep well at all. Electrics not great with some pitches unable to reach electrics despite paying. Lots of inconsiderate guests playing ball games around the pitches and smacking peoples caravans, tents and gazebos. Only a few toilets and showers for whole site. More like a party campsite.

It is disgraceful and the most disgusting site that I have been on. We booked in walked the facilities and left.I would not place a homeless person here.

Electric grass pitch

Liked The pool.

Disliked It looked very run down and falling apart, the games room could do with an upgrade.
In the pub using the facilities we felt very unwelcomed, we felt stared at.
The area we stayed looked like a tip or a dumping ground for hoarders.

Route directions

If you are following a satnav, it may well take you down Low Road; ignore this and carry on along Marsh Road, where you will see the Rose and Crown pub (bright yellow) on your right. Check in here, then drive for another 30 yards to reach the site entrance, again on the right. Please don't drive down Low Road as this is only a small lane which tourers and motorhomes find it hard to come down.

Local attractions

You'll find a fair bit to do within a reasonable drive of the Rose and Crown, like Wisbech and its Elgoods Brewery, gardens and maze 20 minutes away, and royal days out at Sandringham within 35. Both Hunstanton and Skegness are within about 45 minutes' drive. Closer to home are two golf courses and Spalding's Springfields Outlet Shopping & Festival Gardens, which also has a tourist point detailing local attractions. Spend a day around the Wash too for birdwatching at Frieston, Gibraltar Point and RSPB Snettingsham and a look at the RAF bombing range where visitors are welcome to watch the aircraft. Historians have the National Trust's Peckover House or the Octavia Hill Birth Place Museum, both in Wisbech, to wander around, and if you have kids along on your hol, they'll probably fancy wanders around Fun Farm, Alley Katz Bowling or the Butterfly Wildlife Park.
