As with most of the park there is plenty of space

General

  • Peaceful and friendly park in the Lincolnshire Fens
  • Dog-friendly with a huge dog walking field
  • Play area and kids' bar area with games

You might like to ponder on arrival who Orchard View Caravan & Camping Park would be most perfect for, but you might be pondering for some time.

For those who like the sound of silence: this is a serene and peaceful park away from noisy A-roads. Scenic sorts: the park is in the handsome Lincolnshire Fens, with waterways to explore nearby. Foodie types: the Fenland villages have all sorts of tasty treats to try – fresh farm produce, rated restaurants, tearooms, fresh fruit from roadside stalls and Lincolnshire sausages made in the market town Spalding.

And Fido: Orchard View is dog-friendly and has a huge (and safe) dog walking field with lots to sniff at. And finally, the little saplings: there's plenty of technology-free space for younger guests, including a wooden play area with a sandpit, swings and a slide. Kids are also welcome in the children's area of the bar where there are board games, puzzles and supervised use of the pool table.

This is also a spot for those who like space and convenience as it’s on a six-acre level site, and for folk who like a bit of a personal touch: owners Ray and Maria are lauded for being two of the friendliest and most helpful site people around, as anyone who’s ever had trouble putting up their awning can testify. Maria is even known to sing a little during the free of charge (for residents) evening entertainment if you ask nicely...

Amenities here are bang up to date, such as the recently built shower block with free hot showers. There’s a shop three miles away at Gedney Hill and you’ll find info galore on what to do in the local area in the tourist information cabin and in the bar – or you could just ask Ray and Maria what they recommend - they’ll be happy to help.

We had a really lovely stay on this beautiful park at the weekend. Both big kids loved the play park 🏞 and even found some 🐇🦊dens in the field!! Clemmie 🐶 was over the moon with the field and spent many an hour zooming round and round. The cottage static was a proper home from home, with full kitchen facilities and essentials, very comfy sofa and large living space, great for family games and for the newly crawling baby to gain some speed practise 😂. Thank you for your kind hospitality and friendly chats.

We may be locals but it was great way to explore an area we don't normally venture too.

Really hospitable owners. Was shown around the site upon arrival and given a sheet with lots of local info on, including shops pubs all with postcodes!. Small enough to let the children roam (aged 7 and 9) large enough not to be cramped. Facilities clean and all working, lovely hot shower. Stayed three nights but would definitely book for longer next time. Thank you

From the moment we arrived, we knew this was exactly what our group of 4 were needing. It's a small quiet site but with a lovely calm and tranquil feel. Maria and Ray are fantastic hosts and nothing was too much. Our 3 night stay was perfect and just what the doctor ordered! We will definitely return and already told friends about our lovely trip to Sutton St Edmund

Local attractions

You’ll need to be active to work off all those Lincolnshire sausages, so take to the unexplored fens on Orchard View’s doorstep for cycling, riverside rambling and horse riding. Strolling around the shops is also a less strenuous way to work off the calories: Spalding has bargains galore in the Springfield Shopping Outlet.

A scenic drive will take you to the towns of Hunstanton and Sandringham, but you can’t come to this part of Lincolnshire without also seeing seaside town Skeggy. It’s not just the seaside, the donkey rides and the funfair: the Natureland Seal Sanctuary is at Skegness too – and has tarantulas.

Once the kids have recovered from their hair-raising tarantula experience, soothe them with a trip to Fantasy Island up the coast at Ingoldmells. Where, coincidentally enough, there’ll be a chance to go shopping again: with hundreds of stalls, the Eastgate Market is the biggest indoor seven-day market in Europe...

Must see

  • Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens (10.2 miles)
  • Peterborough Cathedral (13.1 miles)

  • St George's Guildhall (16.6 miles)
