Well-maintained and neatly landscaped, The Conifers Country Park is an adults-only touring caravan park that welcomes all your canine chums too. A peaceful stay here puts you in pole position for accessing other places of interest in Lincolnshire, including the pretty market towns of Louth, Horncastle and Spilsby in the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape. Set in a peaceful countryside location just 10 minutes’ drive from the beach and resort-style entertainment of Skegness, this family-run site has a number of handy amenities, including a pristine modern shower block, a chemical waste disposal point and a dedicated dog wash so you don’t have problems with muddy paws in your accommodation. The site also benefits from CCTV and a coded electric barrier at the entrance for your security and complete peace of mind. And the good news just keeps on coming. There’s a fully stocked fishing lake on site, a local pub 20 minutes’ walk away, and the nearest village of Burgh le Marsh (five minutes’ drive) has a good choice of traditional pubs and takeaways as well as a small supermarket.

Liked A Superb New,Modern site, it has great hard standing pitches (only 8) with EHU, water on each pitch, the toilet/shower block is amazing, and extremely clean, small fishing lake and dog walking area, lovely quiet and peaceful, just perfect for a relaxing time, a quaint pub (the old chequers) a 20 minuet stroll away though it has odd opening times and gets very busy, also a very friendly welcoming from the owners, will definitely recommend

There’s so much to do round and about, so where to start? If you like the feel of sand between your toes, head for Skegness beach (10 minutes’ drive), a hive of activity with amusement arcades and blustery strolls along the wooden pier. For a quieter vibe, try the dunes to the north end of Mablethorpe beach (35 minutes), which are dog-friendly all year. As well as seals, wildlife lovers can enjoy close encounters with rescued owls, meerkats and lynx at Mablethorpe’s Seal Sanctuary Wildlife Centre (also 35 minutes). Head to the marshy Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve (20 minutes) to spot wading birds, harriers and owls, and then relax with a cuppa on the visitor centre’s seaview terrace (please keep dogs on leads). When a spot of shopping is on the cards, Horncastle (half an hour) and Louth (35 minutes) are the places for browsing antique shops, and there’s a Monday market at Spilsby (20 minutes), also known for its handsome Georgian architecture.
