General

  • Peaceful and smart park over 15 acres
  • At Chapel St Leonards and within walking distance of the beach
  • Three fishing ponds across the road and pub next door

Ah, how we love Skegness. And Mablethorpe. And Chapel St Leonards, and Ingoldmells…it’s a fairly safe bet to say we’re rather fond of the Lincolnshire coast as a whole – and we haven’t even got to the Lincolnshire Wolds yet.

Quiet pitches near beaches are on many campers’ coastal checklists as well as seaside towns: if this is true for you, tick off your requirements at peaceful and pretty Eastview Caravan Park, on the edge of Chapel St Leonards village and within walking distance of the beach. It’s a smart and friendly 15-acre park which welcomes families, motorcyclists and the family dog: we suspect you might like the three fishing ponds across the road or the pub next door too.

Eastview has clean and well-maintained heated shower and loo blocks with free hot showers and disabled access; waste disposal points and service points. There’s no shop on site, but Chapel St Leonards is a few minutes’ drive away for supermarkets, cafés, pubs and restaurants.

Please note

Pitches are based on 2 adults and 2 children up to 14 years of age. Adult occupancy cannot exceed this number, with no exceptions made.

    Everything.
Scenery- lovely open fields with alp the facilities youd expect from a top notch site, all clean as expected.
Pitch- area was more than big enough and electric worked as expected.
Staff were friendly and extremely helpful.
Distance- the location is in and ideal location and you can get to almost all over the local hotspots in 10-5 mins in vehicle.
    Highly recommended

    Disliked:

Nothing to dislike about it other than our own tent leaking from the weather.

Stayed in the touring and tent field for 2 nights this weekend for the stock car weekend which is held at skegness stadium, it's bout 2 mile from the track so was a good location for us. The staff were lovely and friendly on check in, make sure you take abit of cash with you as you pay for the fob which works the barrier and the toilets, showers etc, get it back at the end of your stay so it's fine.....shown to yr pitch ours was fine about 2 min walk from toilets good pitch spaces not too close together everyone we met connected to the site was friendly and the campers were good company also, we didn't spend so much time at the site but had a walk round close to chapel st leonards and the beach plenty of pubs and takeaway places had a pizza from mambos which was nice plenty of toppings...There is plenty of buses if you want to get out and about, all in all a nice site with good facilities will definitely return ...

    Disliked:

There was a lot of emphasis on the vacating time of the pitch was told about 20 times that we had to leave by 10.30 which was abit annoying when we had just arrived ...had to pay extra for wifi ... parents who don't look after their kids!!!!

The site was very handy for all surrounding facilities, we made a weekend without using the car or public transport and wasn't bored. Staff on site very friendly at check-in, when I was shown to the pitch and leaving.

    Disliked:

There were a few dogs off leads and not well controlled, not sure if the site policy allows this. Also some noise till the early hours, bit I think this may have come from the adjacent site. Toilets probably need another clean per day, probably down more to the people using them than anything else.

From the manager...

Dear Customer

Thank you for your review, we do appreciate you taking the time to leave your feedback.

Our site rules do clearly state that dogs must be kept on leads at all times so we can only apologise on behalf of the people who did not adhere to this ruling. The caravan site next door does have entertainment until quite late and we will speak to them and ask for the noise level to be monitored after a certain time,

We hope that these issues will not stop you visiting us here at Eastview again.

Kind Regards
Eastview Caravan Park

Couple of minutes walk to beach attractions.

WiFi was useful (child sneaked the iPad in the car)

Coming from the south or north:
Follow the directions for Chapel St. Leonards. The campsite is on Trunch Lane just off the A52. The entrance is next to the Kings Oak Pub.

Local attractions

Walk to the town and beaches of Chapel St Leonards or take the bus or car to Skegness to start your hol off swimmingly: both have easily enough attractions for a full day trip, as do nearby Mablethorpe, Sutton-on-Sea and Cleethorpes, all within easy driving distance.

Secondhand shoppers and bargain hunters will be in heaven too: nearby Ingoldmells has the biggest indoor market in Europe, and there are regular car boot sales here and at Chapel St Leonards, Skegness, Winthorpe and Addlethorpe.

Skeggy is stuffed with sights, attractions and activities: the Embassy Theatre on the seafront, Tower Gardens and the wild river flume and rides of the Skegness Pleasure Beach.

The popular Natureland Seal Sanctuary is at Skegness too; to see more of these Lincolnshire inhabitants, head to the Donna Nook nature reserve or to another seal sanctuary at Mablethorpe, which also has time tunnels to the dinosaurs and other beastly locals including barn owls and badgers.

The Gibraltar Point nature reserve just outside Skegness is another top spot to see the local wildlife and soaring seabirds, or head inland to walk or bike the Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty Lincolnshire Wolds, the highest eastern England area of land between Yorkshire and Kent and with the Red Hills Nature Reserve to the north.

There’s plenty more to do in the Wolds whatever floats your boat: the long-distance path The Viking Way cuts across the Wolds on its way from Barton-upon-Humber to Rutland, or you could take a steamy trip on the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway, or for bikers, ride along the roads and roar at the races of Cadwell Park.

Shoppers and sightseers can meander around the several popular market towns on the edge of the Wolds, including Louth, ‘the capital of the Wolds’; Alford, famed for its pottery; and Horncastle, to pick up antiques.

Elsewhere, a trip to lovely Lincoln should be on the cards for its cathedral (take a rooftop tour to see the town spread out below), the Norman castle, museums and galleries. There are guided walking tours around the Cathedral Quarter, or take a boat trip or hire a bike from Brayford Waterfront.
