What customers say

This campsite offers a peaceful retreat with friendly and helpful staff, many of whom are praised for their welcoming nature. Visitors frequently highlight the clean and well-maintained facilities, particularly the showers and toilets. The on-site fishing lake is a major draw, proving popular with both experienced anglers and families introducing children to the sport. Its location is noted as convenient, providing a balance of rural tranquility and easy access to Skegness. While most experiences are positive, a few guests mentioned minor issues with shower timers and a desire for more on-site amenities.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (two person)

Liked Quiet, decent facilities, friendly staff

Disliked Some of the other guests were a bit noisy and kids running around everywhere but it quietened down in the evening and I had a peaceful sleep.
Campsite is quite small and cramped, feels like you are in someone’s back garden rather than an open field but still plenty of room for what it was.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch (super)

Liked Loved this site from the minute we arrived staff couldn’t be more helpful especially the man who looks after the site with the owner David. (Can’t remember his name sorry). Toilets and showers were allways well stocked and kept clean and tidy. The fishing lake was brilliant well stocked so great for the kids as didn’t take much to get them catching their first fish. They loved it!! Will be returning soon as I can with my son to do some more fishing.

Disliked Nothing about this site that we all didn’t like 👍

Non-electric grass tent pitch (four person)

Liked Loved birchwood fishing and camping we were only staying 1 night and ended up staying another before our travels started this is an amazing place its in a central location to skegness and Ingoldmells it was perfect. They have hot showers and toilets which are kept clean everyday.
They have a beautiful fishing lake on site and stocked with plenty of big fish (if you enjoy fishing) they have ducks and chickens roaming the campsite.
We had a great time!

Disliked The only thing i did dislike was when having a shower you have to keep pressing the button every 10 seconds or so to keep it on.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (four person)

Liked Nothing what so ever, cramped, packed and not an enjoyable experience, don’t stay here if you want a nice place to stay.

Disliked Disappointing campsite, small cramped and a complete waste of time and money. I would not recommend staying here.

From the manager: After arriving well past our latest check in time and disturbing guests at 9:40pm, you were greeted politely and offered 4/5 different pitches. One large enough to house 2 tourers with awnings. You drove off without even exiting your vehicle to then inform Pitch-up we had sold your pitch to try to get your money back!
We are not sure how you have been allowed to comment when you have not even stayed on our site...very disappointing!

Local attractions

Lincolnshire's seaside capital Skegness is two miles from Birchwood Fishing and Camping, as are Fantasy Island and the indoor market land of Ingoldmells, another popular destination on the Lincs coast. Skeggy has quite a bit to see after its beach and excellent amusements, such as Natureland Seal Sanctuary on North Parade, where visitors can see the seals being fed and have a look at loads of other animals like penguins, tarantulas and tropical butterflies. (If it's animals, conservation and nature you're after, see also the Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve, the nearby Northcote Heavy Horse Centre and the National Parrot Sanctuary.) Just up the coast at Ingoldmells, take the kids to the indoor and outdoor big and small rides of Fantasy Island (this should work as a nice bribe to get them to accompany you to the huge market afterwards) and then a short journey further north to more seaside at Mablethorpe and Sutton-on-Sea. Finally, if you care for a spot of fruit picking, nearby Willow Farm lets you pluck your own among its 10-acre field and has a farm shop selling more goodies for you to take back to base.
