  • North Lincolnshire glamping on a quiet park edging Burton upon Stather
  • The Deep Aquarium 35 minutes’ drive; Lincolnshire Wolds 40 minutes
  • Fishing lake and shared lakeside log cabin; rural walks from the site
If you’re thinking North Lincolnshire self-catering holidays, perhaps you should be thinking Acorn Wood. Set on the outskirts of the quiet village of Burton upon Stather, this camping and caravan park provides a relaxing getaway for anyone who appreciates countryside walks, a peaceful setting and maybe a spot of fishing. The various glamping accommodation options sleep up to four guests, with private gardens for basking on warmer nights. All are dog friendly so there’s no need for your four-legged chums to miss out on the fun. The well-stocked on-site fishing lake is for the use of experienced anglers – and don’t forget that a rod licence is required by law. Sitting on the banks of the lake is the communal log cabin, where you can chill while using the book and DVD swap, make new friends among fellow guests, have a drink and socialise. A small shop is open daily for you to stock up on basics, gifts and fishing bait (opening times vary depending on time of year). Burton upon Stather itself has a couple of essentials stores, pubs that do great food and lots of walking and cycling opportunities.
