  • A 170-acre site two miles from the beach at Mablethorpe
  • Several fishing lakes on site and a family show bar with entertainment
  • Golf course, aqua park and a bar and restaurant
Guests of all sizes should find stacks to do at good-looking and quiet Grange Leisure Park two miles from Mablethorpe, like packing the kids off to scale the heady heights of the adventure playground's pirate ship while the grownups concern themselves with the serious matters of casting or teeing off… Casting off is at the park's six scenic fishing lakes filled with good-sized carp, roach, bream, perch and a few more scaly species. For teeing off, Grange has a nine-hole golf course; day tickets are available at reception where you can also hire clubs. There's also an outdoor aqua park available for guests' use for an extra charge, and a leisure complex with a family showbar (hosting entertainment), a bar-restaurant, arcade, café and supermarket. Entertainment and fishing are included in the pitch price. After the fish/golf balls have been tamed and the kids have gone wild in the playground (they'll find a zipwire, swings, slide and quite a bit more there too) guests of all sizes can meet up in the Badgers Barn Pub for a bite and a tipple (possibly not the latter for smaller guests). And then, a stroll to walk it all off? Ambling options are all around: Grange Leisure Park is on 170 acres of farmland and fields, with clear open views, miles of trails and wildlife in abundance. If you're wandering into Mablethorpe, the beach is about a mile away, but if you're feeling full/ lazy, the local bus stops right outside the site.

What customers say

This is a large, well-maintained site with a wide range of facilities, including fishing lakes, an aqua park, and arcades, making it popular with families. Pitches are generally spacious and level, with helpful and friendly staff. However, some visitors have experienced issues with noise from other campers and nearby roads. Cleanliness of toilet and shower blocks is frequently mentioned as a concern, with inconsistent maintenance reported. While many praise the entertainment and on-site amenities, others find the prices for food and drinks to be high.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked The complex is great, good fishing, lovely staff. Shout out to Libby the entertainment manger, my 7 year old daughter loved her. She makes such an effort with everyone. Dom in the arcades, great with kids too, made it special for my 2 and lastly Matt, the camping warden. Friendly, helpful guy who's up against the odds sadly, take my hat off to him!

Disliked Where do I start? We stayed for four nights and, unfortunately, were pitched next to a a few pitches who had little consideration for other campers. Across three pitches, they lit campfires directly on the ground, burning large wooden pallets despite the extremely dry weather and the campsite’s no-campfire policy. This was especially worrying given the recently harvested field next to the campsite.

The disruption wasn’t limited to the campfires. There was also loud shouting, swearing and general noise that continued into the early hours on several nights, making it impossible to relax or get a decent night’s sleep.

On the final evening, after two of the pitches had apparently been asked to leave, another fire was lit using rubbish that had been left behind and then abandoned. We called security, but although they attended, the fire was not put out and was left unattended.

It’s a real shame that both security and management failed to deal with this behaviour properly. It spoiled what should have been a relaxing family camping trip and created an unnecessary safety risk for other guests and staff. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, particularly if you have young children. We also heard that one of the pitches had been causing problems on and off for a few weeks, and it should never have been allowed to continue.

Electric grass touring caravan or tent pitch

Liked The pitch sizes were fantastic, and facilities on site were varied and of great value.

Disliked The toilets on Aqua park lake were absolutely disgusting. We were there for the best part of a week and the urinals in the mens toilets were clearly broken and full of disgusting rubbish and tissue, they absolutely stank, the toilets were often unclean and flooded and the shower cubicles had clearly not been wiped down or sprayed through the entire 4 day stay. I was really disappointed with the level of cleanliness.

Local attractions

Mablethorpe, Sutton-on-Sea, Ingoldmells, Skegness and other Lincolnshire lovelies are all close by for the coastal connoisseurs; and market towns, villages and the Lincolnshire Wolds easy to get to inland. At Mablethorpe, many visitors wander through the dunes to Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary, home of many a brightly-coloured bird, birds of prey, primates, reptiles and roguish-looking meerkats as well as the seals. Kids and big kids will probably also like Mablethorpe's miniature railway, boating lake and funfair; fans of the latter should add in Ingoldmells, home of Fantasy Island theme park. This is also a cracking area for nature: more seals can be seen at the popular Donna Nook National Nature Reserve down the coast between Grainthorpe Haven and Saltfleet, and a huge nature reserve teeming with squawking seabirds is at Gibraltar Point near Skegness. Also nearby, bob about in boats or cast off again at the waters of the Lincolnshire Wolds, alongside many miles of trails and bridleways to walk, cycle or horse ride, or bob around Lincolnshire's market towns: recommended options include Alford, Louth and Lincoln.
