  • Adults-only yurts in a peaceful, rural Lincolnshire setting
  • A 20-minute drive to Cadwell Park and Mablethorpe on the coast
  • Shared kitchen and lounge facility; garden area with a barbecue
Whether it’s walks, motorsports events or beach days, you’ll be well-set to crack on from Bramble Lodge Glamping in rural Lincolnshire. These open-plan yurts are kitted out for adults only, and with no pets allowed and views of alpacas in the neighbouring field, it’s rather peaceful. On Chapel Lane in the rural village of Great Carlton, Bramble Lodge is an old farmhouse built in the mid-1800s. So, this is a quiet, remote place with splendid views across the local farmland, no immediate neighbours and off-road parking. Still, there's plenty of action at hand. The open-plan yurts are 20 minutes’ drive from Cadwell Park (for motorsports events) and Mablethorpe on the coast. The owners, Marcus and Sheila, have fab knowledge of the surrounding area, so ask them to dish out advice on walking and cycling routes, alpaca treks (available to book next door) and top dates to visit Cadwell Park, market towns and seaside attractions. With a spacious layout for two adults and your own flushing loo, you’ll be cosy with or without a partner in crime. The yurts all include a double bed, seating, small table, bedding, towels, bedside tables, sockets, mirror, kettle, glasses, hanging space and cosy extras like a radiator, lamps, an electric blanket, tower cooling fan, tea/coffee/milk and fairy lights. There’s an immaculate garden (with decking, seating, a barbecue and a patio heater) - the pond and well-stocked bird feeders are a magnet for wildlife. Plus, all yurts have access to the Badgers Den, a handy shared kitchen and lounge with a gas hob, electric oven, toaster, microwave, fridge and all cutlery and cooking utensils.

Local attractions

For those of you who are craving the coast, there are plenty of places a short drive away that are likely to hit the spot. Whether it’s spotting grey seals from Donna Nook (25 minutes’ drive) or taking a look at Tank on the Beach (20 minutes), a rusting battle tank that’s stuck in the sand just off the wildlife-packed Rimac Nature Reserve (15 minutes), there’s plenty in the way of wildlife and history… Mablethorpe (20 minutes) has a funfair, aqua park and sandy beach for a traditional day at the seaside. Meanwhile, in Skegness (35 minutes), a day could look like miniature golf games, donkey rides on the beach or braving the rides at Fantasy Island (35 minutes). When you’ve had your fill of all things sand and sea, make your way over to the local market towns. Foodies will be able to sniff out top cheeses and plum loaf in Louth (15 minutes) and relax in Spout Yard with their findings, while Horncastle (half an hour) and Alford (15 minutes) have plenty in the way of independent shops and eateries too.
