  • Peaceful adults-only site on a small working farm in Lincolnshire
  • Walker’s paradise: loads of quiet country lanes and bridle paths
  • Half an hour’s drive from the city of Lincoln
Need an escape from that fast-paced modern life? Get back to nature at Dean House Campsite, a stripped-back adults-only site at the rear of a small farm half an hour's drive from the city of Lincoln. A top spot for exploring Lincolnshire at a slow pace, there are loads of quiet country lanes and bridle paths in the area around Dean House. You can also follow a nearby bridle path directly into Chambers Farm Wood – part of the Lincolnshire Limewoods and a haven for budding stargazers – to explore the waymarked trails or the night sky. If you prefer to explore in the saddle, the scenic village of Woodhall Spa is 35 minutes’ cycle from Dean House and the towns of Wragby and Horncastle are both half an hour away. Back on site, unwind further by soaking up the peaceful, quiet atmosphere, looking out over the fields. When your stomach starts protesting, get a barbecue going – you can pick up supplies from one of the supermarkets within 10 minutes’ drive – then serve meals up with your feet warming by the campfire. Fancy a break from cooking? There are plenty of restaurants within 20 minutes’ drive of Dean House.

If that’s only whetted your appetite, there’s plenty more to keep you busy too, from museums and galleries to shops and restaurants. Aviation and motoring buffs can get their fill of planes, trains and automobiles with stops at Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Centre, the Bubblecar Museum, Lincolnshire Aviation and Lincolnshire Wolds Railway, all within half an hour of Deans House. Stressing about going back to work? Finish off your holiday with a trip to the Workhouse in Southwell, an hour away, where suddenly you won’t feel so bad about returning to your annoying colleagues, small cubicle and crammed inbox…
