  • Peaceful adults-only site on the edge of Chapel St Leonards
  • A 10-minute drive to Fantasy Island and 20 minutes to Skegness
  • Wide, sandy and dog-friendly Chapel Point beach 10 minutes' walk away
Pack your beach gear if you’re heading to Rosa Campsite – this adults-only site is a mere few minutes’ amble from a long, sandy beach. There’s a peaceful rural vibe here, with acres of farmland views to gaze out over, but it's all only 20 minutes' walk from the pubs, cafés and small supermarket in the coastal village of Chapel St Leonards. The site is also only a 10-minute walk from the dog-friendly Chapel Point beach. Vicky and Shaun have set up their site in a quiet spot and take pride in the friendly and helpful welcome they offer to guests. Pitches are in a large grass field that’s pleasingly flat, with plenty of space for barbecues. Showers are close by for convenient riddance of accumulated sand; they’re free to use and kept mightily clean. A washing-up area and recycling facility are also provided to keep the place spick and span. If your walking boots want a bit of action, it'll take you 25 minutes to drive over to the Lincolnshire Wolds, where you can hit the trails through woodland and grassland to see the wildlife now abundant in the abandoned chalk pits.

What customers say

This is a peaceful, clean, and well-maintained campsite with friendly, helpful owners. Pitches are spacious and level, and the site offers a quiet atmosphere. It's within a 10-15 minute walk to a beautiful sandy beach and village amenities. Facilities are generally considered clean and adequate, although some guests suggest more showers and toilets would be beneficial during peak times. An adults-only policy contributes to the tranquil environment.

Electric grass pitch

Liked I wanted a peaceful getaway and that’s exactly what I got! What a fantastic find Rosa is, flat, well maintained, quiet, clean and surrounded by everything you need for a countryside retreat.

As a keen dog walker I quizzed Shaun on arrival, who is so knowledgeable about the local footpaths right on the campsite’s doorstep, plus a few tips to enjoy along the way - I did see the wild deer at sunset! The Observatory beach is less than ten minutes away which is so clean and rubbish free, perfect for me and the dog, plus the other beaches: Anderby Creek and Wolla Bank are about 10 mins drive (again tips by Shaun the owner)

Perfect restful afternoons spent reading and at night you can hear the Sea, there’s no WiFi, no children and no parties happening, the facilities are basic but efficient, the water is hot, the toilets are spotless and the waste/water easily accessible.

Owners are very friendly, helpful and although I knew I could call if needed it was great to be just left alone, my dog was made welcome which for me is the icing on the cake! I shall return

Electric grass pitch

Liked A nice quiet away from main campsites. Shawn the owner is great explains everything to you. If you forget there are plenty of notices in case you forget. He also has good local knowledge of where to eat drink & go to. About half an hours walk to the quiet side of Chapel St Leonards. It is a dog friendly campsite there were quite a few there that went off on walks with their dogs. It's a great site to see the sunsets & the wildlife that surrounds the site. Watch for the bats to come out as night falls.

Electric grass pitch

Liked We got a lovely welcome from Shaun, who then took us through all of the site's facilities, rules, etc. He did this in a very fair-minded way, not officious as some site owners can be.
A small site so it felt very collaborative - others holidaymakers were helping each other out if something fell over, etc. This created a really lovely atmosphere.
A 10 minute walk to the beach and local shop/pub/garage.
Spotlessly clean (unisex) facilities.

Disliked Others have brought this up in previous reviews: the lack of any toilet roll.
If you buy in bulk it's really not that expensive and if you are worried about people stealing rolls then install the large paper roll metal dispensers or the pull out of a hole ones.

From the manager: Thanks for your lovely review. Just to make you and others aware, we stopped supplying toilet paper as we find if people are using their own they are a little more conservative on the amount used. When we were supplying it the site got through so much that our toilets were blocking on a regular basis. The removal has stopped the blocks and as we are not on main drains our system is a lot happier for it. We do have paper available for anyone unaware on arrival. Cheers Vicki and Shaun

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Lovely host, greeted on arrival and showed where to pitch and told about amenities and places to go in the village.

Pitch size very good.

There are 3 toilets and 2 showers but for a small campsite this is plenty, also a wash up area and fresh water.

Night time was really quiet and peaceful, amazing sunset.

The beach is around 15 minutes walk away then it’s a lovely 3 mile walk along the coastal path to get to fantasy island, the village is around 15/20 minutes walk with a few pub and lots of takeaways and shops.

La piazza in the village is a beautiful Italian restraint, amazing food and staff are lovely.

All in it’s a beautiful place and I’d happily visit again.

Local attractions

Beachy options of all flavours are within easy reach if you’d like to expand your paddling horizons beyond Chapel Point. Drive for 10 minutes to reach the natural dunes of Anderby Creek or head the other way for all sorts of amusements in Ingoldmells. The seaside resort of Skegness is about 20 minutes away; traditional fun here includes amusement arcades. Skegness Aquarium has a fab collection of marine animals including sharks, octopus and colourful clown fish, and animal fans should take a detour to Skegness's Natureland Seal Sanctuary too. Gunby Hall, a National Trust property 20 minutes away, makes another great day out: take the house tour before wandering round the walled gardens and wildflower areas of the estate and having a genteel game of croquet.
