Great site and lively stay.
Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Separate booths marked out between pitches is great. On site bar was a plus. Alpacas are great fun and right next to where you’re camping. Clean toilets while site is well kept. Ice cream and cafe open at advertised times. Pizza guy turned up which was a bonus too. Electric available if you wanted it. Covered area for dish washing. Small site so even when full it’s nice and spaced out and not too many people. Generally quiet and attracts nice folks who leave you alone or chat to you whatever you want. Owners were great, always about, but chatty and lovely.
Disliked Not much. Be aware the bar is close and there is music but it’s not late (shuts off around 10.30) and if you’re into it then it’s no bother either, just means evenings can be noisy if you’re hoping for quiet campsite all the time. Campsite quiet otherwise and if you’re into karaoke with the locals you won’t care!

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked We had a wonderful first visit just for a weekend. We felt welcome, the site was well organised, clean and tidy. It was quiet and friendly and the bar plus cafe food was great. We had a wonderful stay.
Disliked Would like the option to use a plug for a hairdryer as a camper in tent!

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Run by a really lovely couple, fantastic quiet site - was amazing waking up every morning to the Alpacas.
Small site which was about 50/50 camping and caravans when we stayed.
The onside toilets and showers were always clean and well maintained - the shower is £1 for 7 minutes which is much longer than we've had on other sites, water was always warm and plenty of space to dry off and get changed.
The Alpaca Arms pub is open most evenings, great selection of drinks and reasonable pricing. They put on plenty of events/activities in the evenings so it's easy to get to know other people staying on site (we recommend the music quiz even though we lost!)
Disliked Nothing :)

What customers say
This adult-only campsite is praised for its peace, quiet, and friendly atmosphere, largely due to the attentive and welcoming owners. Guests highlight spacious, private pitches, clean facilities, and the charming alpacas as major draws. The on-site pub is a popular social hub. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, a few mention minor points regarding shower cost, occasional noise, or the surrounding area's appearance.

First time there and would defo go again
Electric grass pitch
Liked The site was superb principally due the excellent hosts Gary and Julie. The ethos of the site is it should be friendly and all on site should say hello and talk almost like a family environment. It was good to see the inquisitive alpacas as well.
Disliked I dont think I disliked anything really, well apart from the rubbish phone reception but you cannot lay the blame for that on the site

Liked Amazing place, great campsite and facilities with its own pub. The owners are so friendly & helpful, we had a very peaceful and relaxing stay with awesome views of the Alpacas, one of the perks… no kids allowed.

From the manager: Thankyou for a lovely review Darren, hope to see you again with a bigger tent ⛺️ 😉👍
Nice campsite. Industrial area.
Electric grass pitch
Liked We stayed as a stopover on the way home from further north. Campsite is nice. Spacious pitches with hedges between. Showers clean and hot. Didn't use the on site pub as it was closed that night.
Disliked The campsite is in the village of New Holland. The village gives the impression of having seen better days. We walked along the riverside path. This was accessed through an industrial site. Although the campsite was fine, we didn't like the area.

Great quiet site
Electric grass pitch
Liked Everything, nice quiet site, lovely toilet and shower block, good sized pitch, the Alpace Inn was lovely and even opened Wednesday due to England match even though it usually shuts just in a Wednesday. The hosts were amazing and the Alpacas next to the tent were a lovely touch.
Disliked Nothing really, booked for 2 nights but ended up booking a 3rd and staying another night.
