Liked: Quiet, clean and well looked after site. Well placed for touring the area. Barton upon Humber has most things you're likely to need which is only a few miles away.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: This was the fourth time we've stayed at Marshlands Alpacas and as ever we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Every time we go something new has been added, this time it was a new clubhouse/bar and take away catering at the weekend.
The owners Julie and Gary are very welcoming, friendly, and helpful owners. The site has good sized, flat pitches, lovely clean showers and toilets, and everything is easy to find. The location is nice and quiet and dogs are very welcome.
The new club house is a great addition and vey sociable.
The take away breakfasts are great and were very welcome as we had gas problems with our van this trip.
Thanks to everyone for a great trip, we'll definitely be back (sooner ratther than later)!

Electric grass pitch

Liked: It's a very clean and well layed out site, with a brilliant on site bar, I did not try the food because I left it too late to order, but from what I saw other people eating it looked good. The Alpacas cost me a good few hours just watching them mulling around. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Liked: Everything there’s nothing to dislike. The pitches are very large and level. A lovely quiet little site, a little gem. Gary and Julie are very warm and welcoming. There’s the Alapacas bar too on site which is a bonus. It’s Not far from lovely walks, we went on the Viking way with stunning views and not too far from the beach either. We will be returning with our friends next year definitely

Local attractions

Without any kids in tow, having hols full of grownup-sanctioned adventure is a cinch: head towards Grimsby (half an hour's drive) for tours and tastings at Rutlands Arms Old Mill Brewery and a stop at the taproom of the town’s newest brewery, Docks Beers. Otherwise, venture towards Hull (half an hour) for sedate turns around pleasant gardens, stately manors, museums galore and a must-do stop at The Deep aquarium. Anyone who’s after something more high-adrenaline and doesn’t mind a slightly longer drive should make the hour and 20-minute journey down the coast to Ingoldmells for a day at Fantasy Island theme park, or continue on to Skegness (an hour and 20 minutes) for stock car and banger racing at Skegness Raceway. For days in the great wide open, there’s plenty of choice: the Lincolnshire Wolds are about half an hour away for hiking, biking, riding and geocaching, or a coastal detour to Cleethorpes (35 minutes) and its seaside stretch is a top pick for beach and sandcastle days. A trip to Spurn National Nature Reserve (an hour and 15 minutes) shouldn’t be spurned either, even if it’s over an hour away – take a stroll along the sand island for slow-paced explores or sign up for a safari or wildlife-spotting boat trip to see it at its best.
