Non-electric forest floor tent pitch (woodland)

Liked Great site with a back to nature feel. The owners put a lot of equipment out for kids to play with which is brilliant and so thoughtful.

Disliked Not all guests followed the rules of no music and being quiet by 10pm and this wasn’t enforced.

A safe space for my 3-year-old to play, with plenty of toys…

Non-electric forest floor tent pitch (woodland)

Liked A safe space for my 3-year-old to play, with plenty of toys and sports equipment, in addition to the natural environment itself. The chemical toilets were very clean, and there was an accessible shower just a couple of minutes away. It's a quiet place, and although we could hear someone playing loud music at one point, a quick chat with Andy was all it took to sort it out.

Disliked Nothing tbh, but since you're asking: my son he missed a swing on the playground area.

Non-electric forest floor tent pitch (woodland)

Liked I loved how each tent pitch area was it's own area, with the trees making a natural partition between them. All the tent pitches were a very short walk from the car park and there were carts etc to take kit, equipment, luggage to and from the pitch areas. The site is very well kept and managed and we were greeted very kindly by the owner/manager

Disliked Just the weather as it rained on and off from mid evening throughout the night but nothing to dislike about the site.

Turn up light the fire and relax

Non-electric gravel campervan pitch (woodland)

Liked Everything nice owners super helpful pitches aren't what I'd call pitches they are so far apart it really is your own private spot in the forest does not feel like a campsite

Definitely will be booking again. The children had an amazing time.

Non-electric forest floor tent pitch (woodland)

Liked What a fantastic place. All pitches are spaced out nicely to give privacy, it’s like you’re in your own little magical forest. There’s a large size grass area where the children can play with gocarts, football net and a box full of toys. You can buy fire wood and water on site (there’s not running water on site so bring plenty). There’s a pub a few minutes walk away with a children’s play area. 5 minute drive to Tesco and co-op.

Disliked The toilets aren’t nice and smell quite bad, there is a sign with a new design for ones that will be built.

Beautiful location. Toilets spotless. Small, peaceful site.…

Non-electric forest floor tent pitch (woodland)

Liked The onsite staff and set up was amazing! Each pitch is nicely spaced so you get plenty of room and privacy. The pedal go karts for the kids were brilliant! The pub and play area were great for the hot weather and kids loved the onsite games and den building area

Non-electric gravel campervan pitch (woodland)

Liked Unbelievable place, arrived a bit later than originally planned but loved it from the start till then end, pitch was spacious and you’d think you was on your own although others were there, nice walk on site and a very chilled experience which is what it’s meant to be.

Disliked Nothing to dislike at all

Local attractions

You may well spot various wild animals while you’re staying in the forest – but for bigger beasts you’ll need to take an outing to Alpaca Park Farm (15 minutes’ walk) or meet the more exotic residents of Twycross Zoo (10 minutes’ drive). Need something a bit more active for energetic members of your party? There are lots of trails to walk along at Sence Valley Forest Park (10 minutes), or they may like to bounce themselves silly at Rebound Inflatable Park (10 minutes). The latter is a handy option for a damp day, as is Conkers (15 minutes), which has both indoor and outdoor play areas and exhibits to explore. It’s also worth dedicating a bit of time to the area’s history, perhaps stepping back in time to the 15th century with the interactive exhibits at Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre (20 minutes), riding on the Battlefield Line Steam Railway (10 minutes) or taking in the tower and tunnels at Ashby De La Zouch Castle (10 minutes).
