What customers say

This is a small, peaceful, and well-maintained campsite set in beautiful countryside, praised for its excellent, clean, and modern facilities, particularly the hot, powerful showers. Reviewers highlight the easy, contactless check-in, attentive owners, and personal touches like a micro-shop and woodland walks. While most found the site relaxing and would return, some noted that tent pitches can be sloped and narrow, and the electricity supply is limited.

Electric gravel motorhome pitch

Liked Loved the location, we went for a walk into Houghton on the Hill village, then back through the fields. Lovely walk.
Facilities were great! Hot showers, heaters, and spotlessly clean. Chocks provided if you didn't have any.
My favourite was the shop, The Psychedelic Squirrel! Amazing in there, and very reasonable prices.
Communication on checking in and out was great, with very friendly messages 😊

Disliked There's not much to dislike about this place.

Electric gravel motorhome pitch

Liked Lovely peaceful setting in a beautiful location. Loved the little caravan shop, very handy when I realised that I’d run out of teabags! The facilities were clean and the automatic heater in the shower was a great addition on a chilly weekend.

Electric gravel motorhome pitch

Liked Location was good. Tidy well cared for site.
The cone to mark your pitch is a good idea. I liked the heater in the shower/toilet cubicles! Very nice touch.

Disliked Not a dislike really, in autumn or rainy weather it would be good to have a gravel path from the shower/toilet building to the main gravel driveway

Recommend to friends Visit again

Will definitely visit again and have already recommended.

Local attractions

Getting out to see more of your rural surroundings should be easy enough here, as there are some great walks in the vicinity, along with those bike rides on National Cycle Route 63. Rutland Water (20 minutes’ drive) is another good place for a walk or a bike ride (there’s a path that goes all the way round the lake), and you can also play golf, try your hand at sailing or bounce across the inflatable aqua park. If the kids are keen to meet cute animals, head along to Windmill Farm Park (15 minutes) for indoor and outdoor animals, play areas and a café. Bird on the Hand Falconry Experiences (15 minutes) makes a great day out for those keen to get up close to the big birds. Over in Leicester (20 minutes) there are plenty of options for a day out (especially if you need rainy-day activities) – the city is home to the National Space Centre as well as the Retro Computer Museum and King Richard III Visitor Centre.
