The end of our pitch. we had plenty of space and privacy.

Surrounded by nature and you could hear the pheasant calling.

The photos don’t do it justice. a lovely site even in dreary match.

Liked: Welcome from Saffron, the super clean facilities, the view, the peace and quiet, ease of access. The s'more kit, the kites and falcons, the pods look lovely too

Disliked: 6 amp electric was a challenge, remembering not to switch on more than 1 appliance at a time. The pitch was a bit sloped with the wedges in we were still a bit down at the front

Liked: There was so much to like about this place, the location was perfect for us a peaceful spot but only 20 minutes drive from the city. The shower facilities were by far the best we’ve had on a site this small clean , warm and great water pressure. We were only there one night , but I wished we’d been staying longer. We didn’t have a problem with the level of the pitches or the uneven gravel, there site was beautifully kept and presented. We’d definitely come back if we’re in the area again.

Disliked: There really was nothing we disliked about this site.

Liked: Small peaceful campsite with beautiful surroundings. Off the beaten track with a local pub, shop and walks all within local walking distance. Great washing up facilities with hot water, a couple of toilets and shower. Host was friendly and easy to contact as needed with check in and queries during our stay. Can't wait to return!

Liked: Really liked the whole site. Walking dogs was easy. Site was clean & tidy. Showers were great too. Would definitely stay again.

Disliked: Not really a dislike but some of the pitches will need levellers but we knew this before we arrived. Was not a problem for us though.

Local attractions

Getting out to see more of your rural surroundings should be easy enough here, as there are some great walks in the vicinity, along with those bike rides on National Cycle Route 63. Rutland Water (20 minutes’ drive) is another good place for a walk or a bike ride (there’s a path that goes all the way round the lake), and you can also play golf, try your hand at sailing or bounce across the inflatable aqua park. If the kids are keen to meet cute animals, head along to Windmill Farm Park (15 minutes) for indoor and outdoor animals, play areas and a café. Bird on the Hand Falconry Experiences (15 minutes) makes a great day out for those keen to get up close to the big birds. Over in Leicester (20 minutes) there are plenty of options for a day out (especially if you need rainy-day activities) – the city is home to the National Space Centre as well as the Retro Computer Museum and King Richard III Visitor Centre.

Admission

At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.

Arrivals and departures

No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
The site will send you further check-in information 3 day(s) before your arrival.

Changes to your holiday

Bookings cannot be amended within 7 day(s) of arrival.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.

General

Bookings must not be for more than 30 consecutive nights.
Please note that the shower facilities are unisex.
Quiet hours must be respected between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m..
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.

Occupancy

Group bookings of 6 or more adults are not permitted (couples and immediate family members excepted).
No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Pitches

A cable measuring at least 10 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.

Reception

There is no reception on-site: on arrival please contact the number provided on your booking confirmation.

Safety

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.

Vehicles

No cars/motorbikes by the pitch/unit. All cars must be parked in the designated area.
The car is only included in the rate if you are travelling with a touring caravan or a tent. Cars are not permitted when travelling with a motorhome/campervan.

Visitors

Visitors are not permitted on site.

Additional terms

Guests must only use green chemicals or no chemicals for the chemical toilet disposal.

Units larger than 7.8 metres long and 3 metres wide are not allowed.

Access to the site is via a rough farm track and may not be suitable for vehicles with lowered suspension.
