  • Seven-acre field with fishery next door and Ashby canal walks nearby
  • Well-stocked farm shop: buy barbecue packs and home-produced meat

Tomlinson's Farm Shop and Campsite is on the edge of the pretty village of Stoke Golding within easy walking distance of the centre of the village, and has excellent access to a seven-acre field.

The site is quiet and peaceful - best suited to those who want a wild camping camping experience - and welcomes individual or group bookings looking for a break. Families are also welcome. The site has a lockable gate making it safe for kids and dogs. It's a working farm, so pigs and poultry can be seen.

The open, spacious field is a top spot for back-to-basics camping, in a scenic, peaceful and relaxing setting. The owners are campfire- and barbecue-friendly too, so trot along to the farm shop, established for 10 years, to buy barbecue packs,
home-produced meat, local bread, milk and more.

Stoke Golding has three pubs all serving food; one has an Indian restaurant within it too and will deliver takeaways.

The site has a portaloo.

Please note

This site has no on-site toilet and shower facilities.

The site has a portaloo for guests' use.

The campsite just being a field:-). No pitches, just find yourselves some space.
Easy going when you are in a motorhome;-)
Very friendly welcome and nice to have a farm shop with milk and eggs and other basic requirements next door.
    Very dog friendly!
The White Swan on High Street in Stoke Golding offered us a lovely and relaxed meal in their nicely furnished backyard.

    Disliked:

    No water tap:-(
The information on the website was clear about no electricity, no showers and just a porteloo. All fine, but would have appreciated some info on no running (cold) water.
Unfortunately, some of our neighbours turned out to be very noisy. Loud music until 1.30u at least. No peaceful wild camping on the night that we were there, but that was hopefully a one off...

From the manager...

Hi thank you for your review and our apologises apologies for the water not having been connected. I should have explained when you arrived that water is available from the farm. We hope it will be connected very soon.

Regarding the noisy neighbours, now that the field has been mown and the full 7 acres is available for pitches I have decided on the following:

- families will camp in the lower half of the field and likely to be noisy groups in the top half
- groups will be asked to keep noise to a minimum after 10.30pm

Hopefully this will help to prevent other campers stays being spoilt by inconsiderate groups.

Thanks again for your feedback, it is invaluable in helping us in our process of continuous improvement.

Peaceful and specious location in a gated field. Very private. Wild camping at its best. The field does have a portaloo.Owners Jo and Garth also have a farmshop a stones throw away stocking everything you need and more besides. Stroll up the hill and there are three pubs selling food. Also a post office and village stores. Great location for exploring ie Richard 111 and all that. Lovely villages around and the canal towpath is on your doorstep. Overall a great stay. Will definitely be visiting again soon. Great for those with kids. Get them back to nature in a safe environmen.
