  • Riverside site in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
  • A five-minute drive to Symonds Yat Rock, and 10 minutes to Ross-n-Wye
  • Grass pitches on the Wye river, close to watersports, pubs and shops
Huntsham Bridge Camping offers grassy pitches in level fields on the banks of the Wye river in Herefordshire – a spectacular spot for exploring the untamed Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean. This peaceful, off-grid site is heaven for all sporting types, with options for canoeing, kayaking, cycling, climbing and walking in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Try to get up early at least one morning to watch the sun rise from the viewpoint at Symonds Yat Rock, and you might like to tour the ramparts and exhibitions at medieval Goodrich Castle (both five minutes’ drive). Firepits can be hired and wood can be bought (subject to availability) on site – the owners can also provide bricks so disposable barbecues don’t burn the grass. You can source goodies for the grill in Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth (both 10 minutes), and while you’re there, have a potter around their indie shops and galleries. If you’re off cooking duty (you are on holiday, after all), there are plenty of pubs, tea shops and takeaways in both towns as well. Simple on-site amenities include a portable toilet and a shower, and you can park by your pitch, so you won’t have to traipse across the field with your camping gear. A couple of rules to end up on: the owners want you to enjoy the wonderful Wye Valley dark skies, so please use torches or lights just bright enough to get you around the campsite safely. This is a quiet site too; no noise after 10pm so your fellow guests can have an undisturbed night.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked The campsite was even more beautiful than it looks on the website and really small and cosy. Amazing access to the river which I hadn’t appreciated was at the end of the garden area.
Owners were super welcoming and friendly.
Very close to Symonds Yat so great location for exploring the area.

Disliked No complaints at all

Non-electric grass campervan pitch

Liked My heart is still there tonight...two days at Huntsham, with Lovely Jane and Richard...
I'm looking at the satellite map of this place where time has stopped for two days.
Where this morning, I was looking at the river full of mist where the wild geese gathered to fly to the fields.
On this foggy pontoon, I was listening to the awakening of the river that was slowly running in front of me, with the sounds of awakening of nature.
I felt so free and so light.
A gem where I wish to go back and back....

From the manager: Hi Fran,
Thank you for your very thoughtful and kind review, I’m so pleased that you enjoyed the peace of the early morning watching the river.
Hope to see you again.
Best Wishes,
Jane
