Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: It’s a large site with ample facilities, including a football pitch, play area and games room.

Disliked: No fault of the sites but some of the guests that were there when we stayed were slightly undesirable with their kids not being much better, foul language used by both the parents and their kids around the site, I believe this was dealt with by staff onsite, although it didn’t make much difference. The wc facilities could do with a few more cleans per day considering how many guests are able to stay.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Good location, easy access to local towns and Forest of Dean. Peaceful setting, well maintained site and friendly staff

Disliked: Very tight lane on the approach, could have done with verges being cut back. You’d struggle in an 8ft wide caravan. Pizza was only available until 7pm on Friday and Saturday. Would have been nice to have been available a bit later on these nights.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Clean, nice park, nice woods for children, dogs to have a run around and a little walk in, facilities fine for a short stay.

Disliked: Driveway down to site needs maintenance. Pitches are quite close to each other. The pizza service closed at 7pm not long after we arrived so that was disappointing. Poor WiFi and phone signal

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Spent three peaceful days on site that is central to some beautiful places. Staff very helpful and friendly. Thank you Fiona and Rosemary Facilities spotless. They have individual wet rooms that are new and self contained with shower and dressing areas which are spotless. Lovely on site shop and good size pitches. Not far from M50 yet very peaceful and quiet. Nice stretch of woodland walks for your dogs. Spent a lovely day canoeing on the river Wye, good size car boot at Monmouth on Saturday. Few castles near by. Booked another visit next month. Enjoy..

Disliked: Phone reception weak. Site has no Wifi.

Local attractions

Woodland walks are seconds from the farm and four golf courses are within a three-mile radius. Sports centres and swimming pools are a short drive away. The Malvern Hills and the Brecon Beacons are probably the most visited destinations around this part of the England/Wales border, but plenty of other popular picks are around, like canoeing on the River Wye, wandering around the town of Ross-on-Wye, or fishing on the local lakes. The Haywood Farm Caravan and Camping Park team also firmly states that the nearby International Centre for Birds of Prey must be visited: it's the oldest birds of prey centre in the world and has lots of opps for seeing many sorts of raptors up close. Go: it's eggscellent. Pottering around the Forest of Dean is another decent day out: if you're going forestwards, take time to stop off at the ancient woodland site of Puzzlewood and then the Clearwell Caves, mined for thousands of years to extract iron ore and now set up as a mining museum. (It should also be pointed out, just because, that some Doctor Who episodes were filmed here.) Within driving distance, both Monmouth and Malvern towns are 20 minutes away, and the cities of Hereford and Gloucester within 25.
