Lower Green Holidays: Woodburning hot tub and outside shower

General

  • Adults-only glamping site on a farm 10 minutes' drive from Pembridge
  • Croft Castle and Parkland 20 minutes’ drive; Hereford half an hour
  • Shepherd's hut with woodburner, pizza oven and hot tub

The spectacular Herefordshire countryside is yours to explore from Lower Green Holidays, an adults-only site on a 250-acre working farm a 10-minute drive from the village of Pembridge.

Here, you can leave the world behind and get romantic in a stylish, fully kitted out (and remarkably secluded) shepherd’s hut made with sustainable wood from the farm. The hut is fully insulated against the West Country winds by layers of Welsh wool; if you’re still not feeling cosy enough, the woodburning stove should sort out that little issue.

The accommodation comes with a raft of modern conveniences, starting with your own bathroom with hot-water shower (and luxury dressing gowns to wrap yourself in after), plenty of storage (under the comfortable bed) and lots of power points.

There’s also a kitchen area with a kettle and a washing-up basin, but the real cooking magic happens mostly outside the hut, with a stove and a pizza oven that may well inspire you to give outdoor baking a go. Be careful not to get distracted by the views of grazing calves, ancient apple trees and the occasional roaming fallow deer, though…

While you devour your pizza, you can get the hot tub going, so it’ll be ready for a post-prandial soak under the stars. There is virtually no light pollution around these parts, so you’ll have no trouble locating your favourite constellations in the dark sky.

A couple of pubs are within a five-minute drive of the site, and you can get food supplies from Kington (10 minutes’ drive), which also has a handful of takeaway restaurants.
